Saracen Saul stared at the woman who was helping the beat up girl. She hadn't graced him with an answer but her eyes challenged him. He frowned, having thought he was being 'polite' by checking on the hurt crazy chick.

"I mean, she is all injured and crazy. She won't survive anyway..." He shrugged and looked away.

"Leave her alone. She can eat her own rations." The slave stood up to him.

"Whatever." Saracen Saul glared at her.

He vowed silently to 'teach her a lesson'. But not now, he needed to stay on Saint's good side. Messing with one of Saint's merchandise would only dig him into this situation deeper.

"Your not worth teaching any manners to anyway." He spat on the floor and turned his back to her to walk away.

Nathan pondered for a moment waiting for Tom to finish speaking
"It's been a long time, and yeah at the very least what we fight now stays dead." Nathan turned to Mark the irony in his words not evident to him
" Can't exactly say it's been fun, upper management didn't like me proving myself to be just as good human or otherwise, Nathan's facial expressions tightened a bit as he still got depressed when he spoke about his condition, got stuck on a patrol out in the middle of nowhere and was ambushed by slavers about two weeks later."
Nathan did his best to avoid glancing at Tom, 'Need to deal with him later' he thought to himself

Mark said, "Well, the Enclave hasn't been known for its tolerance. It's probably for the best if the others didn't know of your affiliation with the Enclave, though I'm pretty sure you realize that. Anyway, I'm hitting the sack, see you tommorow Nathan." Mark then said in a serious tone, "No more betrayals please, even my forgiveness has limits, even though I realize why you did what you did." He then went on the bed that Det had taken over, and lay down, falling asleep in no time.

Nathan nodded and turned to face the new man, "My name's Nathan Faust" he paused for a moment, rusty after years of not being able to even talk to a person much less shake their hand "Pleasure to meet you." he finished with a somewhat forced smile, the tissues of his face not working all that well and it ending up looking more menacing then warming like he had hoped.

Eddie couldn't go to sleep. The emotions were palpable around him. He sat in his cot as he overheard Mark talking to some men. It appeared that they knew eachother. Perhaps it was from that whole thing in Florida that he talked about. They continued to chat and noticed Mark reference the Enclave. Enclave? Aerts hadn't heard anyone affiliated with that in all of his travels. He noticed one that seemed rather cordial and friendly. He thought it was the one that called himself Sean. No matter. Maybe he could help him out and perhaps Eddie could gain another 'friend'. He tapped Sean on the shoulder and began to speak.

"Hey there...Sean I presume? Don't think we've come face to face. The name's Eddie Aerts. Do you know what the hell they're talking about? Do you know who these Enclave are? I apologize for my...uhh...incompotence towards the matter. Only so much one can get from living in a shed in the Virginia mountains."

Sean looked towards Eddie and smiled, "Your not being imcompetent, I would be confused I if lived where you were. Well the Enclave are an Organisation mainly based in the Capital Wasteland..." Sean told Eddie all he knew about the Enclave. He then added,"It's nice to meet you by the way" He shook his hand.

OOC: Sorry I didn't tell the whole story, quite lazy at the moment :P.

"Likewise my friend. Thanks for the info. I don't know if I'm going to be able to use it locked up in this circus though." Aerts chuckled as he extended his hand and engaged in a handshake.

"What do you think of what's going on man? For one I had no idea slavery came back into existence. There must've been something in the water for this to happen again...no pun intended of course. In all seriousness I hope we do get some form of food and drink. Only things I've been friggin' living on these past days is some old dog meat and a bit of scotch mixed with river water."

Nathan sighed and left the area
'Damn it all.' Nathan thought to himself as he walked back to his cell.
"this is a fine pot of crap I've gotten myself into." murmured Nathan as he sat on his bed.
Sighing he set to work figuring a way out of this place, seemed like most of the guards would likely be at the very least distracted when a fight was going on, best time would be then or if something or someone drew attention to the other side of the building. Nathan's eyes settled upon a piece of ceramic chipped off of the toilet tank lying quite innocently, moving on his bed once again springs protesting all the way Nathan had an idea and set to work all the while keeping an ear out for any noise from outside.

"Tell me about it man! Listen you look like a nice guy who can handle himself in a battle. I have a friend called Alice who I know here. We're Rangers, you know Reillys Rangers. You probably haven't heard of them. Well I'm an expert in the explosives and I'm not bad with a gun. Alice is great with a gun too. If you wanna survive we're the best chance you've got. So tomorrow when they choose the teams stick close to me and Alice."

Mark had woken up about five hours later and overheard Sean and Aerts talking about Reily's Rangers. Mark said, "Reily's Rangers, the cartographers? I would've joined them earlier on on my adventures, but I found a different calling." Mark noticed that Det was busy crawling over everyone else in the room, as the coolness of the night made him far more willing to leave the moisture of the bag.

"You know I don't think I've heard of you fellows before. But hell, any group these days seems to do quite well in the business of battle. I'll take your word for what it's worth Sean. Seems like everyone knows eachother here. I must be the bastard child of this family reunion. Maybe it's better that way. But don't you worry, being couped up in a cottage with a family of mountain men can only make you adept with a gun."

Aerts cleared his throat as he tentatively bellowed the rest of what he had to say.

"Truth be told though, I...uhh...haven't exactly killed a man. Hearing some of these guys talk about it worries me. I feel I'm with a bunch of John Wayne's or something. Good to see that one of 'em is friendly though. But hey, there's a first time for everything eh?"

"Sure there is, and tomorrow won't be a better time to learn. Seriously training may help. But battles are different, if you do well in battles then training doesn't matter much. You're new and you will learn quickly. I see good potential in you. Just be brave and follow what me and Alice do." Sean patted Eddie on the shoulder.

Nice lad, he will do well I can promise that.

Ren watched as the ghoul left the group. Now was her time to make an ally. Quietly, she walked towards his cell to see what he was doing. He had his back to her as he was looking for something.

Ren whispered, "Hey, ghoul, what are you doing?"

She may have sounded harsher than she wanted to, but she wasn't in the mood for being courteous, nor was it of much use in the wasteland.

OOC: headed out for a few hours, pardon my lack of response after this one.
Nathan nearly jumped out of his skin, he looked behind him and found a girl looking over his shoulder.
Feeling indecision he tiredly looked at his options, first was lie to this girl and she might leave or she might make a commotion first was good but Nathan had a feeling that wouldn't happen second was to tell the truth, she makes a commotion he could just toss the evidence and she would have nothing.
Nathan sighed tiredly, he was going to regret this, "I'd give you a made up answer but you've already seen, I'm making a knife out of a piece of that toilet over there." Nathan said as if the event happened daily.
"Also, my name's Nathan" Nathan spoke wearily.

She looked at him a little oddly, she'd never heard that trick before.

"Nathan, you can call me Ren. You seem like the type that's been around the wastes a few times. Do you want to," Ren lowered her voice, "Make an escape with me?"

Ren knew it was a risk plotting an escape, but it was better than dying in an arena.

Mark decided to step out for some air and overheard Nathan talking to a girl named Ren about escaping. Mark said to them, "It may be best to play by their rules for now, to find out more about who we're dealing with, but then breakout when we've gotten enough of our stuff back and know the layout of the facility."

Ren quickly turned her head to see who the voice's owner was. The man was African American, with dark hair and eyes, and looked quite muscular even under the brahmin skin clothing.

"You don't even know what these 'games' are like. They could be anything. The safest thing to do is escape as soon as possible, and there's always a way to escape," Ren replied quietly.

Ren began looking for an exit point. The roof didn't look too sturdy, probably from the elements beating away at it. It wouldn't be much of a problem for her to get on the rafters supporting it and push a piece of sheet metal open. If Nathan went with her though she wasn't sure it was possible.

"It would be better to know more of the facility but that takes time, a distraction would be a good way to draw attention away from you and allow more time for an escape." Nathan coughed a glob of mucus onto the floor "The first thing you need to find out is where the nearest town is and if they are friendly, if you manage to escape but this is the only place within one hundred miles with water I hope you are part camel."
Nathan then went to the door of his cell and looked for any other people walking down the hall as he was getting tired of more people walking into conversations and affairs of his that he did not want to be seen.
"Unless you want to risk your life she happens to be right about needing to get out of here soon." Nathan exhaled "What you need is a map or a local to help you as right now you're running blind."
Nathan picked up his ceramic piece and began running it along one of the walls sharpening one point "Now is there anything else you would like or can I get back to making my knife?"

Ren gave Nathan a nod and left him in his cell.

Looks like I'll have to wait and see what tomorrow brings, she thought.

She didn't bother talking to anyone else, instead she went into a cell to catch some sleep. The bed they were provided was as comfortable as a bed of nails. Ren slept horribly.

Charlette rocked back and forth on her mattress, her usually pristine hair in tangles. A large open wound dug deep across one of her cheeks where she'd been hit by those men.
"Goodness, are you alright?" People kept coming over and asking. One man had been so rude as to offer to take her food. Not long after she sat down another woman approached her.

"Hey, how are you holding up after those bastards beat you?" She said in a soothing tone. "I wasn't beaten.. I tripped and hit my head." Charlette replied, looking up at the woman. "Please... I don't know why I'm here, I was at home and-" She stopped talking and looked at the floor. "What is this place?" She asked. Charlette had just been snapped to reality. All her life she'd been safe at her home in Andale, with nothing but her family for company. Now her family were gone, dead perhaps. This wasn't a resort at all. This was a jail building. Had she done something wrong?

Alice shook her head. The woman was clearly insane. "Look, you have been taken as a slave, we are currently being held in a jail house in God-knows-where. These men want to put you through what they call games for their and other peoples amusemant, and these games are going to be gruesome and violent. And for the record, you were beaten by those damned Slavers."

How is this woman going to survive? I just hope she's teamed with one of the others, at least they look like they can handle themselves. She got up and began walking back to Sean to discuss a way out of here when a group of Slavers walked in. "Alright you, you mutts, you get into your cells! One per cell! Any of ya'll try to disobey that I'll get my boys and gals here to make sure you get it." he bellowed. Without hesitation Alice led the woman to a vacant cell and proceeded to another vacant one herself.

As she lay down on the bed she wondered what could be in store for them tomorrow.

The night was quiet, but Sean was sure everyone was awake. It wasn't a good feeling, knowing that you may die the next day. But Sean was trained and knew how to deal with these situations. He eve heard some people silently crying. Not that he was surprised.

Later on he began to think of the new guy he wanted in his team. Eddie. This must be tough for him, doing this for the first time.
After Sean thought about that he fell asleep and had a dreamless night.

Saracen Saul had finally managed to fall asleep when the sound of someone sobbing in the dark woke him up.

"What the (censored)..." He complained under his breath. He considered yelling at whoever it was to shut up. They were ruining his own sleep, after all.

If I yell it will not comfort them and they will just keep crying anyway. Then if any guards hear me yelling it will be me in trouble. He realized.

A rodent was investigating his crude trap he had been fidgeting with. He slowly reached for the string as the rat started chewing on the small bit of food wrapped in a piece of rag. The rat started chewing vigorously and he tugged the trigger string fast and it snapped, freeing the rat, the bait and the slip knot meant to catch it. He watched in frustration as the rodent took off with the trap still clinging to it.

"(censored)!!" He swore bitterly. His voice carried in the dark.

Down the hall the fleeing rat squeaked in triumph. Saracen Saul lay back down imagining that the critter had a pretty smug look on its face. The worst part was that it had been fed with all the bait he had left.

Tom hung around Mark for the time being. He felt out of place, only Mark and Nathan were familiar to him. As he thought back to his experience in Florida, he remembered feeling sorry for Nathan. The Enclave offered him a way to change back, and Tom had thought he would have done the same for a chance at his old life. He had seen how ghouls were treated, and he didn't envy them. If it came down to it, Mark and Nathan would be his pick of teamates. Tom didn't doubt the skills of the other slaves, it was just that the team dynamic would be better with them knowing each other.

Tom decided he might as well extend an olive branch to Nathan, putting away his agression. He had just been doing what he needed to to live in the wasteland, just as Tom had done all his life. He found Nathan, along with Mark and a girl he didn't know. His eyes caught the ceramic piece of the toilet in the ghoul's hand. He raised his eyebrows, and he felt his blood start pumping, past instinct kicking in. He pushed it back and walked over to the toilet, crouching to observe it. Tom looked from the john to Nathan and spoke.

"Not a bad idea." Tom said, nodding at the knife in Nathan's hand. He then rose and turned to the girl. "Escape probably isn't the greatest idea." he started, and pointed to his neck "If they were worried about us escaping, they'd have given us collars."

Tom figured there was too much desert around them to make escape a viable idea.

The next morning they were very rudely awakened by a Slaver walking in with a Lead Pipe, smacking it off the bars of the jail cell. It was the same one from the night before. "Alright, mutts! Ya'll Get your f***ing asses over to the canteen for breakfast! Don't be late into the compound, Saint won't be too happy if you miss the assembly!

After bellowing the wakening call Slavers went around unlocking the cell doors, while people rubbed sleep from their eyes and tried to rouse themselves. She got about two hours sleep at best, but she could survive the day on just that, considering they weren't too pressed with physical labor in these games. She saw Sean getting out of his bed and approached him, smiling- something that she doesn't normally do.
"Hey, think we'll get a nice, nutritious breakfast?" she laughed. It felt good having a familiar person in these kinds of situations. "C'mon, let's get going before we're made an example of. We need to think of a way out of here anyway." she said in a hushed voice and started walking, motioning Sean to follow her.
