The C's in bold red here are actually a different character. If you look a them closely, the second diagonal is much lower and the point on the bottom is almost directly under the line in this character. The "C" has the line higher and the dot is clearly somewhat below that line.

What about the other things the guy is saying in the trailer,

"you should have acted, they're already here"

"the elder scrolls told of their return"

"to the time after Oblivion opened, when the sons of Skyrim would spill their own blood."

"In their tounge he is Dovakiin, Dragonborn!

You know, things like that.

After trying several variants, I'm completely sure that first two words are NOT Dovahkiin. Something different...

да чё тут думать? 7 букв. Просто сленгом зашифровано dovakin аки наш олбанский на руси. Вот и получаются слова из трёх, четырёх букв.
Да ещё поди справа налево, как в арабском. А может и снизу вверх письмишко читается)

If the 1st word was Dovakhiin, which means Dragonborn in their native tongue, why would the rest of the poem not also be in their native tongue? I think this is a double translation. Runes to alphabet and then translate their language to English.

There's a lot of three letter words in here that end in what we assume to be "e". More than two for sure. There could be single letters in there for "sh", "th" and "ch".

As far as I can tell, there are 7 two-rune words. http://img522.imageshack.us/img522/6899/skyrimtrans01.jpg Unless one of the first letters is TH. The first and second rune clusters make up the beginning of the first line word.

Is this going anywhere?

I can think of matching english letters for those that don't mess up the on-no thing

is->us

But yeah you're right, there's something up with the two letter words. There's too many unique letters in them for them to all be english letters only.

I don't think that would work well written down. It's a conversation so it's hard to understand what it's saying without specifying. Like this:

Character 1 says: "...."
Character 2 says: "...."

It's most likely either song lyrics (the short lines make me think this) or two paragraphs of text.

Not to forget the first line is a word repeated twice.

They don't match up, we already checked, it's not the song.

What about instead of using it to decipher, using it to translate? We don't have an anolog for "For" in the text, but its worth exploring, until we start making real progress with the cipher.

I will repeat: I think that there are subtleties in the characters that represents either a 2-letter sound such as "sh" or reiteration of that letter.

I still recall the fond memories I had one time when deciphering an english note in Futhark runes when I only knew one word. Once I finished decoding it, I could read fluent Futhark (well, english text written in Futhark runes that is). Same thing with Daedric runes

Not trying this with these Draconic runes though as my time tonight is limited. Keep up the good work though. :thumbsup:

Until we get the translation information from GameInformer, it's all speculation. We don't even know if the words are english or Dragon or what.

Then again, we have to assume- this is Bethesda. Things written in Daedric were readable by people in English if they knew what the runes meant. So this is likely the same way. Plus, we know, it's supposed to be readable.

In English, that is true but in other languages that is not always the case. "The" is not a preposition either FWIW.

The only reason I'm bothering with this is because they specifically told us it means something. Unlike the Dwemer books and the Elder Scroll, which are just copy/pasted character strings <_<

The two letter words I posted earlier haven't paned out into anything meaningful so far.

'Not it' in the sense that using the trailer song is the right thing, but those guys' transcription of the lyrics is faulty ?

There are 27 letters. So translating every character to an English letter is pointless?
Seems to be the case, but only if some of the characters aren't accents of one letter.
Deadric (or any other tes lore language) written in another (possibly dragon) language?
