GI Back Cover Poem

4th word, 5th line is probably "theirs". Could also be "thefts".

My hunch is that there are too many three-letter words here for this to be a straight letter->symbol translation job. I don't think there are enough three letter words that could be used to string together a coherent sentence in English. So I imagine some of them at least will have to be representing sounds/two letters.

Would also make sense given that Gstaff suggested that the twice-over word is indeed Dovahkiin (which we know has more letters than there are symbols there)

Exactly why we need to Check back later today to solve the puzzle.

Guys, it's a new alphabet, and maybe a language. Nothing can come of this.

Could it be those blasted lyrics we've been trying to figure out?

Could be.

I'm almost done decoding this. I'm multilingual so when I look at this I can see English. It's a little challenge, but not too much. Still looking forward to the decoder though.

Almost done? You sir are doing a great service to us. I am happy that you are a member of these forums.

3rd word, 5th line appears to be "use".

The first two words appear to be the same. I will assume that they're DOVAHKIIN. If you look at first word in the last line in paragraph one, you'll see the same word as the very first two words. I'm assuming that these are DOVAHKIIN, OUR KING, SOMETHING SOMETHING SOMETHING. So the first paragraph has the official lyrics to the song. While I have no clue about the second.

EDIT: Mistake.

I've got some efforts done. Instead of guessing what the letters are, I've assigned each letter to a letter of the alphabet. I'm not done, but here's what I've gotten so far:

01. ABCDEFG ABCDEFG
02. ... B. ... .B. CD...
03. .D A.. .B... .D...... D.. ...
04. D.. ... .B.B. ... ....
05. .BA .... .B. ...A.B ...
06. ABCDEFG .D ... .B... .. A...

07. ... ... ... .B.. ..BAD
08. AB C.. C... .B ... ..D
09. .B. .BA .... ... .C. ... ...A..
10. ..A... ... AB ...
11. ...... CB... ...A...
12. CB.. .. .D.B. .D A.CB. ... .C.

Each period is an untranslated letter. Once this is done, we can run it through a cipher to get the English text.

Never underestimate the ability of geeks on the internet when it comes to something they really want to know! :P

All we gotta do is break the code lol!

Will that work?

It may not be a simple cipher. Perhaps it translates to English phonetics?

Assuming the letters translate directly to an english character then yes. That would make it a fairly easy code to break, you just repeat the same characters over and over then you at least have the word's patterns.

My lame attempt, don't think this is right though....

It's not DVN, you can see the V's letter has a "leg" on the lower left side of the line while the letter between the D and the N has the leg on the top right of the line :P

I don't know it seems like another language...

I think I can confirm the second letter to be an O.

In this text, a two-letter-palindrome appears. The only english palindrome that is common and only has two letters I can think of would be on / no. Which includes an O, which looks the same as the second letter. If true, we'd also know what an N is.

The Back cover Poem is interesting but I think I might have solved something important today. The Silver Dragon that you saw in the Trailer the icon thats below the Skyrim title, that is the symbol of the Empire/The Imperial City. Its not anything with Akavir or anything. Now how did I come up with his hypothesis its simple Oblivion. I was walking in the Imperial City market district and I looked up at the red flag. Now I have never really paid much attention to the flag but I noticed something on the flag and it was a Dragon the very same dragon symbol thats on the Skyrim title. I don't think its a conicidence.

Sorry, we've knows this since the beginning.

DOVAKIN DOVAKIN
N__ OK __N _O_ VA_IN
_A DON VOK__ _A_O_D_K D__ VOK
ADN __N NODOK ___ ___N
DOVAKIN _A __N _O__N __ D____

A_K __N K__ _O__ __ODA
DO V_D VID_ IO __N D_A
_O_ _OD A__A __D NOD __A __NDVN
O_D__N __N DO __N
D__AIK VO VOK_N ___DOV_
DO__ _N _A_OK _A DIVON __N _VN

That's what I've got, by assuming the first word is DOVAKIN.

Just as an FYI I've counted at least 28 different symbols, while english has only 26 letters. I could have counted wrong, but I don't think so.

Thats true but I think it makes perfect sense but who knows.

As for the Back Cover Poem my guess is that it probably has something to do with Davokan, Dragonborn hear my call the land of the snow will tremble before the dragons rage and only the one chosen by the Nine Divines can stop it.
