GI Back Cover Poem IV

No the poem is different from the song in the trailer. It way too long.

Yet the theme we've heard thus far is too short.

You get where I'm going with this, no? :P

The song's the first stanza of the poem.

Tiber Septim? Nah, Talos had his fun. Time for the 4th Dragonborn to come forth and [censored] slap Alduin in the face!

Also, this is a bit of speculartion on my part, but if you look on the trailer, there are 3 humans kneeling behind the 4th with the shield. If you at it closer, you can see the person on the most left has briasts, while the two humans next to the most left do not. I take this as the 3 emperors of Cyrodiil: Alessia, Reman, and Tiber Septim. I suspect the Dragonborn will eventually become the 4th emperor of Tamriel.

You may be capable of commanding dragons, as Talos had.

You'll need to usurp the current king of dragons, though.

If what you say becomes known as truth and the player character is not the Dragonborn, I WILL PERSONALLY... protest.

I had this same idea when they unveiled the trailer. I will be very, very sad if the player character is not the Dragonborn. But if he is to become emperor they will have to have a set cannon race/six/name for him. Which I would be completely okay with. Even though I was fine with helping Martin in Oblivion, I want to be the main focus this time around.

the 4th dragonborns appearance is that he is in blades armor with a cape, unique blades helmet, wielding a one handed blade, a magical shield that is immune to dragon breath, and a viking like beard. so this 4th dragonborns race is most likely a male nord! :woot:

I watched that movie a long time ago. I don't recall it being so terrible. I'm sad now.

Anyway. The swallow the world part of the later stanza first reminded me of the Throat of the World, any correlation?

P.S. I am so hiring those chanters from the trailer to make songs about my life. Very conveniant that my username has the same amount of syllables as Dovahkiin! :D

My theory kind of hangs on the idea that Alessia was the first, as she was the first of the Cyrodiilic emperors who made the pack with Akatosh. After the Alessia empire fell, Hrol made love to a hillock, and Reman was then born from mother Alessia, Cyrodiil (or something like that, metaphysical stuff). And Tiber was, of course, named Dragonborn and survived the Thu'um that had blasted all others into ash, and was pretty much destined and all that jazz. Add in my speculation about the three humans behind the Dovahkiin, and yeah, that's pretty much it.

There were Dragonborn before Alessia.

We're talking Old Cyrod, now. The First Empire of Man, back when Ysmir was seven kings, or some [censored].

Actually, I think Reman qualifies as the first Cyrodilic Dragonborn, and Alessia was mother.

I laughed so freaking hard. I think I repressed that movie because of how horrible it is. One of the worst movies of all time, and because of that, also one of the most hilarious things I've ever seen in my life.

Bleh, forgot about Ysmir and all that. Well, the number of humans, and their genders could be a coincidence, hence my speculation  .

Assuming the stone carving originated in Skyrim, it's possible that they would believe their savior (Dovahkiin) would be of their race. He or she might not be.

For example, Jesus Christ was often painted to be a Caucasian male because of the art and religious movement in Europe at the time.

Two men and a woman, with a fourth person? That sounds familiar. Maybe they're the Dovakiin's top generals, and they're just waiting to stab them with a poisoned candlestick* after the battle. The new era will get a new Tribunal of Nords, and hopefully the player was not the Dovakiin.

*I'm guessing that's not exactly how that works, but Nords could just go for less subtlety than Dunmer.

they probably had a good laugh at all of the lyric threads before this. XD
listening to the trailer, my mind still wants to believe it's english. :P

 I know right? You don't want to know how long i listened to that on loop trying to figure it out. I thought I had the first two lines right and then we find out it's not even in english. Atleast they told us the lyrics and what a perfect way to release a little teaser before the magazine arrives...

Everyone keeps saying how this story looks "epic" or "amazing" or "inspired". Am I the only one really let down? I mean, nothing is set in stone yet but... it seems pretty much the same plot as Oblivion. Some big bad god has come to wreck everything and only the chosen one can stop him. I was really hoping for a more multi layered Morrowind story. Granted, this is only a snippet, but it in no way deserves half the praise its getting.

Morrowind's plot doesn't sound that "multi layered" either from just looking at it superficially. You're right, nothing is set in stone, so I think the whole point of the trailer and cover reveal is just to generate hype, not explain the story in great detail
