Please...Please... allow us to be able to use the old forum style. As an option in settings, perhaps? This new layout is beyond horrible.

All of those fit nicely into my bookmark toolbar. ^_^

Get the https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/6937 add-on and you can fit even more........if you need it. (I do.)

I am confused. Too many shiny gradients, strange borders and rounded edges. Feels like stuff is everywhere, in lieu of a better expression.

But that doesn't mean I can't get used to it, though.

Why so inquisitive? :P

Why not? Nothing keeps people thinking like a good question. Wouldn't you like to to know what GStif and Pete think about the Community? They're the ones calling the shots after all.

I enjoyed the idea of working to get my stars i don't feel right that i have any at all right now.

You're not the only one. Back in the day I was damn proud of my measly three stars. BTW, did you manage to set that font as the default? Tell me how? Defaulted needs help with the defaults!

The scrolling issue on Firefox is related to having smooth scrolling enabled. Turn it off and it scrolls fine again. I'm assuming its the same for IE.
I have Firefox with smooth scrolling enabled. I have no problems with it, I am however using a wireless mouse, maybe thats why.

I don't remember seeing this in the two threads I've read, but can I still archive my messages (in my Messenger area) and email them to myself? I'm up to 89% full and just am not seeing anything relating to archiving :(

I don't believe it is even possible.

For those of you with straining on the eyes problems with the new layout, I found that reducing your monitors brightness helps a lot for some reason.

Back in the day? I believe I joined before you and I don't consider that back in the day. I consider myself relatively new.

Holy hell, NoSquint is a GODSEND. Look at this!:

http://i40.tinypic.com/14talgi.jpg
http://i39.tinypic.com/15htf6.jpg

Sure, it's a lot of gray, and sure, the images are zoomed in, but at least I don't have a headache looking at the forum anymore! And it looks slightly more like the old forum.

I'll take a bland, gray forum over a teensy-tiny, overly black forum any day.

Bottom right of the browser, there's a little magnifying glass thing. Left-clicking on that will bring up the site settings, and in that window there's a button for Global Settings.

Excellent, thank you!

It's a bit harder to see quote boxes, but I'll manage. I'm getting thrown by the change of clicking on a link changing the page instead of making a new tab. But, I read earlier that the middle mouse button will do exactly that in FF...

Still, this may be a fix for me, but it has its flaws and doesn't negate the problems (visually, and functionally) with the new forums.

It's also harder to tell which topics have gotten new replies - the black and grey folders don't stand out at all against the background.

Can we get the no-squint / custom css / grease monkey hacks into their own thread? Easier to look it up that way.

The CPU usage is directly related to smooth-scrolling. When its enable on Firefox, Opera or IE the usage shoots way up while scrolling. With it off its only a few percent. I don't plan off turning it off for one website. I'll just make Chrome (which doesn't have it as a feature) my Beth forums browser for now.

So, uh, how would you turn it off if you wanted to?

I love that feature! It will close the tab to. (Or is that with Tab Mix Plus? Can't remember. A must in my book either way!)

P.S.

Oh and another thing I'd like to see. I edit my posts, a lot! Can you please set it so we have a 3-5 minute window were we can edit a post, without that stupid, and ugly "This post has been edited by wolfpup:" crap? Please?

Given that I was around for a while before the switch to IPB, I think I may have been here since 2003 or so  (had a different account for little bit). There's certainly people who've been around way longer than that (the nineties, even, depending what you count), but I don't think I count as new anymore :P.

--trimmed--

As I said, works as a temporary fix . And you should feel ashamed for only just discovering the middle clickety tab opening :shakehead:.

Could we please have some sort of universality (in terms of aesthetics) between the different sections i.e CD, ES, Fallout etc...

Dunno if somebody has said this before, but a great way to clean the forum up just the way you like it is to get Adblock Plus and right-click the background image you think is annoying and block it. Works great for me (this includes all the gradients and stuff).
