I know, you could be an Archpatriarch or a Diviner, you can't tell by looking.

I enjoyed the idea of working to get my stars i don't feel right that i have any at all right now.

I cannot read the new color scheme without getting a headache. White and gray text on a black background? Almost anything would be better, but *dark* text on a *light* background as an option would be a major improvement.

I had to tweak IE to "ignore colors specified on webpages" to even make this board halfway navigable and legible for me. It will be a pain to have to tweak this setting on every time I visit this board, but it sure beats eyestrain....

Doesn't it say so under his avatar - the ranks haven't changed.

Forum stars aren't a life achievement. Really not a big deal, and should be easily ignorable.

The personal photo is glitched I think , I can't upload a single picture. The picture is under all requirements but still doesn't work.
But one improvement is editing posts is much faster !

People need to look/read through http://www.invisionpower.com/products/board/features/lookandfeel.php before they start freaking out.

Want a real kicker? I went on that link, to their site, which must be using similar graphic system or something. Their main site lagged too. Just how is that an upgrade? On the plus, there is mention of multi-skin features. Maybe Bethesda is just holding out on us. Not unusual. <_<

Some of the smilies also stick out like painful sore thumbs on this background (I'm looking at you, Fallout Boy).

Once I can get my forum fit to my wide screen, like it used to do, I'll be much happier. And frankly, I'm kinda having fun with the color thing now! Never had a reason to mess with it before.

Is there anyway I can set the Orange coloured writing as a default?

Please don't. :eck36:

Oh I love these new ones:

After spending a few moments to learn the vibe of the new layout, etc, and update my avatar/sig and whatnot, the new layout and style is growing on me.
GROWING. Not there yet. But getting better. It's a positive change, but DAMN do they need to get rid of this skin. It gives me a headache.

It seems like they made the "Online now" image brighter.

Yep, they're going through and tweaking stuff as we speak :)

While people should definitely post any issues they have everyone should also remember to have some patience with this. If you get all worked up about this it's not going to affect what the admin do with the forums but it will leave you all worked up about an interent forum :D

This is particularly true about small things like whether our locations are listed and other minor aesthetics. While these are the most likely things to be changed in the grand scheme of the forums they're also probably a low priority.

Also, I'd wager that even though the forums are back online (to stave off the impatient hoards of confused users) there is likely a lot that is still going to shift and adjust here over the next couple days. Try to be patient, the software takes time to setup and kick the bugs out of, it also takes time to create new skins, etc, be patient, I'm sure BGS will get everything sorted. :)

Exactly!

It's always been an Invision board, and was always able to view the full site.

When the forums opened in May 2000 they were powered by UBB, we didn't switch over to IPB until the summer of 2004.

Prior to 2000 there was a bulletin board but it was more a predecessor to the forums - certainly when they opened the forums they didn't import the BB users or posts but these were preserved when Bethesda switched from UBB to IPB.

They ruined the forum ranks. You don't have to earn your stars now, you start out with 1 star and by the time you hit 1000 posts you already have 7 stars. They made the star worthless. :(

Yeah, those are a [lot[/i] of stars :D

Personally I'd rather just seem them disabled entirely, I've never liked stars. However if we keep them hopefully they'll be scaled back - chances are at the moment they're using a default scheme and they haven't customized it yet to fit the forums.

Hungry Donner had some constructive hints for how to deal with the width issue but 'zooming in' is not a permanent solution for me as it makes everything horribly blurry.

Also - I seem to have lost my sig. I'd like that back please. I've already reapplied the avatar that disappeared but the sig - won't be so easy to get back at least it looks like I haven't lost any of my pm's this time around. Next time I'd appreciate a heads up so I can grab my [censored]e and make backups so that if things disappear I have copies or at least have no one to blame for suddenly locking me out of my house and rearranging my furniture.

I never said it was, I just liked the idea of working for them, just like in a ps3 or 360 title you work for an achivment it does nothing but boost your score. Also are you just trying to be a total ass to everything i say or are you just that good at it?

Wish you were ignorable as forum stars

#1 cool thing in this update. I now approve of this update.

So how does the facebook thing work exactly? Do I have to do it from the login screen? Also, what information is shared with facebook?

If the forum is just a narrow strip in the middle of the screen you can zoom on in and the sizes will be similar to the old forums (at least they're similar for me but I was zoomed in a bit over there as well, the old forums didn't handle 1600x1200 very well).

Let me be more constructive this time.

I would hope that they add more Font/Size options, as zooming-in makes the text overly Huge. It is difficult to read when normal size, which is why its such a shock for me. With luck they will tweak it more and open up a few more screen options.

The two-tone coloring of Each Row of the forum is probably what makes it harder on the eye, perhaps allowing an option to turn that off and just have a uniform background color versus the "stepwise" dark-on-bottom, light-on-top. Perhaps I am just too old, but I would like to stay and continue posting and contributing here - I really hope the options expand. :|

So if it's CSS driven and offers custom skins, then why do we have this horrid layout and scheme?

And the mobile site can blow me.

The transparent forums with a static background image is a HORRIBLE design decision, but that's why they're not offering skins, cuz they for some reason think it looks "pretty".

The whole deal with Facebook.

You can sync your profile picture, your avatar, your statuses, and your 'About me' with you BSF profile. It only comes into the forums, nothing leaves unless you sync it.
