It's Back! #4

Be nice, don't make posts just to encourage whining, and don't flame your fellow forumer.

Just because the forum has gone through an entire revamp doesn't mean our etiquette has to as well.

And Mr. Oblivion, I'm sorry you hate the orange, but it makes it much less a headache for me to read my own posts, for one, and those of others.

What I would like, if they decide not to change the skins for CD, is a change of color of the quote arrow, and online man, to be colors OTHER than grey shades, making them easier to see.

Question about this facebook thing. If I connect my TES thing to facebook, will it start spamming things on my actual facebook page?

I hear a lot of people are complaining about bad performance... Everything works smooth for me, even on my crappy laptop. I use Win7 and Chrome.

That seems to be the speeding factor. People complaining seem to be using FF and IE.

XP and a computer that dates back from Oblivion. No noticeable slowdowns for me either.

Oh, and using Firefox.

I'm curious about this as well. I don't want a bunch of stuff popping up on facebook about Bethesda...

Vista and the latest Firefox here, but I get lag often while scrolling. It only occurs while scrolling down, not while up, which is very weird. The page comes up fine, though.

Another thing, as handy as that toolbar up top is, it is highly intrusive in posting when not using the fast reply function. It can be hovering above the post options such as Style, Font, and Color, yet preventing you from actually being able to click on these as if it is the way, even though it is not. The same occurs for the Forum navigation links up top. Having the toolbar just over them, but obviously not covering them, prevents you from clicking on them. Very annoying.

Exactly my point. It's cool connecting facebook to my TES name, but having crap like "You posted in this thread such and such" in other peoples news feeds about their friends is not cool.

I can see where this is going and why it was removed before......

EDIT:
offtopic, Scrolling down the page I see about 5 threads made by Antibody. Wow, just wow.

I use the "view new posts" button. Now called "view new content" and it used to be really helpful having the little red box telling you whether there had been new posts made. This new white box is annoying and harder to see.

Yes. Still not a fan of it, though the alignement of the search on the bar was a nice adjustement. Still, I'd prefer to scroll up : I don't have to have all this logins and search and whatnot that follow me around when I read a topic.

What with the firefox thingies bookmarks and tabs - plus that ? Where's my page.

Yay! New Smilies!

And new forum! My layout on the old one was very similar so, I can do with the new one and I've already basically gotten used to it, so it's all good.

For those using Firefox and experiencing extreme slowdowns while scrolling, try disabling smooth scrolling: Tools -> Options -> Advanced, uncheck "Use smooth scrolling".

I presume the general slowdown and higher CPU load is because of the semi-transparent bar on the top following your scrolling.
