Background Music

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 7:40 am

I was searching background music for oblivion and Ifound some really good songs. But http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nYFmH5Sp2Ao song really stuck out at me because on how peaceful and out of this world it sounds. What do you think? And what type of background music do you want to see in Skyrim?

That track equals pure awesomeness and makes we want to give OB another go. I could visualize Cyrodiil and its forests in my thoughts.
What I'd like to hear is some folk/tribal stuff, like in The Witcher and the kind of music Wardruna plays (not that these fellas haven't been mentioned a gazillon times). I presume it will be largely symphonic though, like from what we have heard of the soundtrack. I have no doubts that Mr Soule will deliver some good, not too obtrusive work.

Background Music Please no war music for mudcrabs

This was one of my biggest complaints about Morrowind and Oblivion. I think battle music should only play when it's a particurly challenging or special enemy.

IMO, mudcrabs shouldn't even attack you. They should be ambient wildlife. If you end up fighting a mudcrab... well it should really be over in about the first blow, which will be yours, and no time for music.

The worst part of the battle music with Mud Crabs was running through tall grass and not being able to find the little bugger thats causing the music :banghead:

That sounds so calm :P. That was one of my favorite non-fighting themes.

But an improved Skyrim-esque soundtrack would be pretty cool.

Maybe something like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z81D4zzaEmA for the boss battles. :teehee:
