Backpacking the EU

Post » Mon May 26, 2014 6:43 pm

Having just finished collage this year, I was thinking of partaking in the time-honored tradition of backpacking across the EU.

I've looked that some sites to help with budgeting, planning, transportation, etc. but would like some advice from you guys. Have any of you done this before? And if so, what advice/suggestions would you have?

For reference, I'm Canadian, male, and 20. I'm thinking of 30 days, with time spent in Finland (I'm part Finn), Italy (I love Roman history), maybe Germany, and England.

I've been quoted the budget can comfortably be $4000, but I might go a bit higher than that.

If your'e already visiting Italy I suggest you to do a small sidetracking to Croatia. Maybe I'm just biased, but I think our coast is insane. :D

Just don't waste money going to Ireland. It's just fields, rocks and rain here.

I've been to Dubrovnik and Split. Very beautiful country with friendly people. At least that's the impression I got.

If all the people you've met were friendly you were rather lucky. :D Country really is beautiful, but people aren't often as nice. :/
