Backpacks in fo4

Post » Tue Dec 01, 2015 6:35 pm

Looking at the concept art, we see who appears to be the protagonist...and many of these shots have him with a backpack on..we know there is a accessory slot because we have seen the wedding ring equipped...so I'm hoping backpack may fall into the same kinda category. I personally find that backpacks make everything about a wasteland come to life that much more even though it's such a small detail...what do you guys think...Will back packs be in

Don't know if they will be included, but it would certainly be very cool if they were.

Seems like they're perhaps going all out with the sort of immersive inventories/maps etc. in addition to potentially being able to see our lower bodies. I like that, Far Cry 2 was an awesome game that handled all that sort of stuff in a really cool way, sadly not a lot of other developers ever seemed to capitalize on it.

I want Joel's (the last of us) backpack, it carries everything, knives, bottles, tiny itsy bitzy pieces of cloth, sticky mags, all you could ever need!

You can see out your eyes, you can see your arms, but the rest of you is invisible...

<3 silly Bethesda logic.

I wouldn't be surprised to see an easter egg like that in the game, or something referencing that game.

I think it would be a good addition. Perhaps you would have your base carrying capacity and adding backpacks of varying sizes would increase your carry weight.

You don't think they'll add in some "bottomless backpack" like the unbreakable lockpick, do you? People are always complaining about encumbrance after all, although I like it.

Ugh, it would probably be some "alien technology" that was actually a portal to a transdimensional storage space. If not in the basic game I'm sure some idiot would mod it in.

Another thing inspired by mods, not against it at all if it's true.

A backpack makes sense as I always wondered where my character hides the 11 shotguns, 10 mines, 10 grenades, 1400 rounds of ammo and 5,000 bottle caps.

In that baggy ass vault suit, most likely. Given the newer, tighter suits in Fallout 4, backpacks are necessary.

I hope so, and i hope they will start to care about weight too, because half kilo baseballs are a bit too much to ignore.

Project Nevada added a backpack (equipable like armor and other clothes): +50 carry weight, -1 agility.
I can't see why they shouldn't add one.

It would be pretty cool if they added a backpack and then took it one step further by making it have the same display characteristics as the donkey packs from Dungeon Siege where they had 3 states. Empty, half full and full.

There where also a couple of stand alone backpack mods for both Fallout 3 and New Vegas, Better Balanced Backpacks for Fallout 3, and Black Wolf Backpacks for Fallout New Vegas. Different types of packs with different carry weights.

New Vegas was supposed to have a brahmin companion, but got cut out (sadly).

Having seen the mod backpacks in a Dust playthrough, I'd like them in the game as they add to the look of the character and they give a believable reason why your character can carry that load of gear.....I'd also like a pack Brahmin for the same reason, althrough protecting it in a firefight would be a pain in the posterior. :D
