Don't know if they will be included, but it would certainly be very cool if they were.
Seems like they're perhaps going all out with the sort of immersive inventories/maps etc. in addition to potentially being able to see our lower bodies. I like that, Far Cry 2 was an awesome game that handled all that sort of stuff in a really cool way, sadly not a lot of other developers ever seemed to capitalize on it.
I want Joel's (the last of us) backpack, it carries everything, knives, bottles, tiny itsy bitzy pieces of cloth, sticky mags, all you could ever need!
You can see out your eyes, you can see your arms, but the rest of you is invisible...
<3 silly Bethesda logic.
I wouldn't be surprised to see an easter egg like that in the game, or something referencing that game.
You don't think they'll add in some "bottomless backpack" like the unbreakable lockpick, do you? People are always complaining about encumbrance after all, although I like it.
This is actually going to be in the game, isn't it..
I vote for Area 51...
*puts on black coat*
I mean... err... please look into this red light.
Another thing inspired by mods, not against it at all if it's true.
A backpack makes sense as I always wondered where my character hides the 11 shotguns, 10 mines, 10 grenades, 1400 rounds of ammo and 5,000 bottle caps.
In that baggy ass vault suit, most likely. Given the newer, tighter suits in Fallout 4, backpacks are necessary.
It would be pretty cool if they added a backpack and then took it one step further by making it have the same display characteristics as the donkey packs from Dungeon Siege where they had 3 states. Empty, half full and full.
There where also a couple of stand alone backpack mods for both Fallout 3 and New Vegas, Better Balanced Backpacks for Fallout 3, and Black Wolf Backpacks for Fallout New Vegas. Different types of packs with different carry weights.
STORE STUFF IN YOUR NUKA COLA SETTLEMENT ALREADY!
Backpacks would be cool however
New Vegas was supposed to have a brahmin companion, but got cut out (sadly).
We will never forget you, Betsy.
Having seen the mod backpacks in a Dust playthrough, I'd like them in the game as they add to the look of the character and they give a believable reason why your character can carry that load of gear.....I'd also like a pack Brahmin for the same reason, althrough protecting it in a firefight would be a pain in the posterior.
