No Backstab ability for Operatives

That isn't necessarily a good thing...

Because developers take the bad things instead of the good ones. And yes, I still believe that the COD-games have some nice features as well.

Either you are trolling me or you simply do not understand how P2P works. Latency can never be fixed but merely corrected for and that is what causes the problem.

If you slide tackle me, and we are connected poorly then when I get knocked down you are actually already moving towards me to melee me. When I fire at you I can unload an entire magazine but in reality I have fired only a portion of those bullets so although you took some damage it is not nearly enough to incapacitate you. In this time you have closed the distance and melee incapacitated me while to me you seemingly walked through my field of fire. Same problem, different game and all because of varying internet connections throughout the world, something that SD has no means to fix. I can only hope that this issue is balanced in some other manner but being able to melee incapacitate a downed opponent has the potential to be quite game breaking.

EDIt: I appreciate the information you added in your edit but it states nothing regarding the melee incapacitation on a knocked down foe, merely how a slide tackle causes no damage which is not my concern.

lol, this happens with dedis also - some people just have crap connections - can't blame Brink for that.

Also, you are still speculating that Latency will be so bad that it will effect gameplay. I have only ever played 1 game out of dozens on p2p, where the lag was so bad I couldn't play it.

Seriously, I have covered dedicated servers and its relationship to latency in a previous post (specifically http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1165733-no-backstab-ability-for-operatives/page__view__findpost__p__17152864), you simply failed to read it. Also, I never blamed SD for being unable to correct for various internet connections and said that it was "something that SD has no means to fix." (http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1165733-no-backstab-ability-for-operatives/page__view__findpost__p__17152905)

I have also stated my side of this matter countless times and always concerning the same issue. Go reread my posts if you are curious as to what I am concerned about. Here let me link to them for you:

http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1165733-no-backstab-ability-for-operatives/page__view__findpost__p__17152905

By this point the only logical conclusion I can infer is that you are indeed trolling me. I have stated my concern with consistency multiple times and understand that the compounding factor is not something that SD has the ability to fix, that being latency. This is why I am so concerned about the issue of a melee attack that can incapcitate a downed foe being overpowered under specific latency conditions as SD has no possible way to balance every variable.

I'm not trolling - I just can't possibly see how your concerns are valid. How about you wait for the game to release, before you go jumping to conclusions that are out of SD's hands.

A concern is not a conclussion and I have never stated that this issue is a definite problem, only a potential one. Do you even read the words I am writing or do you simply jump to your own conclusion every single time? Please, take the time to reread my posts, specifically regarding what I am concerned about. As I have stated previously you continue to miss the point.

Nothing wrong with a fear, no need to keep jamming it down our throat.

No worries, we'll just have to see how things turn out. May 17th can't get here soon enough.

Amen to that. I see your point on the slide tackle but I trust SD to do their job.

I thought that last postpone time......just saying, once they postpone it twice, I expect a 3 month release date to be postponed...
