Bad Adoring Fan Moments

Post » Sun Aug 15, 2010 9:21 am

By Azura by Azura! It's my first topic!
Anyway have you had any Adoring Fan moments.

Like one time I was doing that Dark Brotherhood quest where you have to kill Valen Dreath. I was POSITIVE I told him to wait outside. So I barley got to the part where Valen and the guard were talking
"BY AZURA BY AZURA!!! YOU'RE THE GRAND CHAMPION!!!!" I jumped out of my seat, fell, my character ran toward the wall, I was caught so I reloaded, the last save was on the first mission killing the pirate captain!

#2 I was trying to raise my speechcraft on the Adoring Fan. So I left him at a low percentage. So anyway, after that he starting attacking me! So I killed him in self-defense, all of a sudden

"STOP YOU HAVE VIOLATED THE LAW!!"

Yeah, when I bought the manor in Anvil. I kinda used him as a servant. I just wish I could change what people wear, but I'm on the 360.

You can. Reverse-pickpocket weightless clothing into the Adoring Fan's invetory. If it is worth more than what he is wearing, (Which isnt much) he will put it on. The clothing you get from The Sirens Deception is nice for servants.

So pickpocket all of his clothes and put the clothes you want him to wear in his inventory.

EDIT: How do I do this? It says something about you can't put anything in while pickpocketing. I can't kill him because I'm doing The Knights of the Nine. What else?

The poll is not a yes or no question. :unsure2:

I've never found the Adoring Fan to be that annoying, nor did I even realize he was so infamous until I started paying attention to the TES community. When I first met him after becoming the Grand Champion, I simply told him I didn't need a fanclub and proceeded to forget about him.

I was caught so I reloaded, the last save was on the first mission killing the pirate captain!

You turned off autosaves and then didn't save at all through the Dark Brotherhood quests? That just seems silly.

He's not boring, just annoying, and that's the subject. What bad experiences you had with him.

Wow, whoops, I totally meant to put "annoying," not boring. No idea how I made that mistake.

Bad experiences? I've had none. He's a pleasant guy.

Well...

Okay, the first time I laid eyes on his hair, that was a bad experience. Other than that, I don't see how he'd cause that many bad experiences. He doesn't do anything except come back when he dies. Your bad experience was much your own fault than his. ;)

Waste of effort. Adoring Fan is a respawning character. Whatever you put in his inventory (either via reverse pickpocketing or direct use of the console commands on pc) will be gone when the respawn flag kicks in. It re-intializes npc inventory to its defaults.

My worst adoring fan moment? When he came back after I killed him and threw his body off a cliff.

I don't have him anymore though, I left him in Oblivion and then closed the gate. I kinda miss him. :(
