Bad attitudes and cry-babies

Post » Fri Dec 31, 2010 7:20 am

I must say that a lot of people here sound like babies! This game is AWESOME. Crytek brought us a complete new era of games having launched Crysis 1. And with the new CryEngine3 they've done it again. This game can not even be compared to other games. The graphics and the physics - waow!

The only downside in my opinion is the consoles. They can not keep up with computers anymore. I believe that companies like Crytek are being held back from developing an even cooler experience. I really hope that all of you (including companies and people) who developed/contributed to the Crysis series, and the CryEngines, keep the spirit up and don't forget that you deliver by far the coolest, most awesome game experience ever made!

Yes, the graphics are very nice and the multiplayer is fun (great game modes!), but the Physics in Crysis 1 is better.

If they improve the anti-cheat system and correct some bugs, this game will be awesome!

Agreed. Given how quickly CryTek reacted in patching as many things as they did within the first month of release, I would say that's excellent work. I always go back to BF2 when I think of bad patching and bad community support because EA and DICE really dropped the ball in a lot of cases with that game. Thankfully they've been much better with BC2, though.

Keep up the awesome work, CryTek (though you guys could improve on the communication in the forums a bit).

Time to rip this apart.

"I MUST SAY" that there are a lot of cry babies on this forum complaining about the other so called CRY BABIES. How is Crysis 2 a complete new era of game? the fact that it is DX9 already states that your point is a fallacy. This game can be EASILY compared to Call of Duty. Here are some comparisons: Weapon customization, kill streak awards, the way the menu looks, and the way the game modes are.

Also another fallacy in your epic fail post. You say at the beginning that Crysis 2 is a new era of gaming, yet you say consoles are holding back Crytek? How can you create a new era of anything when you are being held back?

The graphics are great, but the physics are virtually nonexistent compared to the first game. I'm not saying that I hate Crysis 2, but C1 was definitely superior in some areas, such as Power Struggle mode, environment destruction, and vehicle play.

To the original poster: everyone is entitled to complain about a product if they're dissatisfied with it. In my opinion the fundamentals of Crysis 2 are a major backwards step in terms of evolving the genre. In my opinion there's nothing original about this game. And in my opinion it's a dumbed down makeshift console port.

only flaw the game has imo is that its designed like a console game, 1 way road with the fake illusion of options.

There's a difference between complaining hard once, or biching about it for the past month since release, get over it. I play the game, the game works, I knew how to get it working and plus I enjoyed the ****ing game.

I think the PCGamer review had it spot on (they gave it 70%) when they said that in the 1st game you could approach a town (an action bubble as Crytek call them) at your own leisure and direction and if you make a mistake, there was always a way to correct it. In C2, you walk through an enclosed corridor and out to an 'action bubble' - with only one angle of attack and a few advised options chucked in there to give the impression of choice. Once you're through that bubble, you enter another corridor and it starts all over again.

Make no mistake, this has happened not through a design error - but because it's a console game. An 'on the rails' console game as opposed to the open and expansive world of the first game.

It's not a bad game. It's certainly not an ugly game (looks utterly amazing actually) but for me its a lot less enjoyable than the first, and this is because it's fundamentally a console game.

So would someone please explain to me exactly what revolutionary thing Crysis 2 has done? Seriously. And lets be real here guys, as awesome as the first crysis was it wasn't anything revolutionary either, it was just good old fashioned fun with slick physics and amazing graphics.

TheLotusEater725 - as far as I've seen there's nothing revolutionary. Games get better looking all the time, there's nothing revolutionary about that. Gameplay-wise and in terms of level-design, C2 is massive backwards step.

Still doesn't stop the fact that everything we type on this forum just detoriates into this game is ****, instead of 'What can we do about it?' play another game or wait it out, pretty sure Crytek have made a number of announcements and they are not ignoring us.
If anything I'm quite ashamed to have them read some of the stuff on here, because sometimes the problem may be between the keyboard and the chair.

I have been offering solutions all around the forum and I'm gonna keep my faith, this IS a good game and I don't care what anybody else thinks of it.

Losing XP? Don't play for six hours straight, quit out and save every couple of games.
Tired of getting killed at spawn: use the cloak feature.
Wallhacks and aimbots: Even if I can't rule these out, they are there (cheating scum) but nano vision helps to see through walls, plus you get better aim when you level up.
Also if you have an assault rifle, turn it to single shot and put a silencer on it and cloak does not deactivate, although that's in singleplayer.

These are called work arounds.... works for me and I enjoy both single player and multiplayer.

Give me a game that came out bug free on release, there isn't one.

Constructive critism is hard to find these days......

I didn't pay $60 bucks to fix THEIR game. I'm not getting paid for this. I paid THEM to give me a decent working product, so did others. This game released way before it should have been, and even that is only part if its problem. People have the right to bich. And sense most of us CAN'T get a refund or sell it to off set our lost money like consoles. They are stuck with us biching till they do something right.

Imagine a new STALKER that was made multi-platform....

This is how I feel about Crysis 2 and this is where I think you are off base.

Make no mistake, I too realize that the game has serious port issues. Thats why I explained in my first post that too much rely on consoles these days. Big companies probably pay big money to see games released on their platform. Consoles slows evolution and should be ditched.

But you can not be serious when saying that this game is bad. I'm a freak of graphics, sure. But the overall gameplay is not that bad either. Bugs, yes - but have a look at games like black ops, mw2 and even minecraft. ALL game has bugs. Remembering me of my first hour playing Black Ops; I was standing in front of an AI escaping from the mine, and it kicked me through a locked metal door.

Crytek has done a terrific job so far, delivering next generation graphics (even though still DX9 and DX10, with upcoming DX11) and 100% worth the money imho, that may contribute to Crysis 3 pc-exclusive.

..."next generation"
*In his best Inigo Montoya ad-lib impersonation* I don't think that phrase means what you think it means.

Next generation usually mean well its the next step in the evolution of what ever it is referenced to. That said, if they are using DX9...it is not next generation.
