bad gaming skills

Post » Sat Feb 01, 2014 5:47 am

even though i have been gaming since the mid 80's my actual gaming skills are pretty rubbish

driving games are one of my favourite genres of game, but since only just now/finally getting a proper broadband line fitted,am seeing just how bad i really am.

since getting forza horizon (last week) have not won one single online race

i try my best but am outgunned by everyone else (that included the beginner races).

i do play fair when racing (not shove others off the road e.t.c) and have come close a couple of times, but the first win still eludes me

i still love playing online though

anyone else who has rubbish skills at gaming?

Yeah, I'm crap. I'm lucky if I can manage most games on regular difficulty, and find "hard" not so much "challenging" as "extremely tedious": it just gets in the way of exploring and experiencing the story.

I'm another one who's played games for decades. I'd like to blame being ancient, but really I just have to admit that I'm a bit rubbish.

My older sister is pretty crap at games. My younger sister, who's played less than her, actually does a decent job considering her inexperience in the field.

I myself have never had trouble with games, because I'm usually a pretty fast learner.

I'm not rubbish but I'm certainly not as good as I used to be in every genre of game. I used to be unbeatable in the likes of Goldeneye on N64 and friends would ask my help to beat difficult levels of single player games that they were stuck on but now I svck in comparison. I think it's a combo of getting older and not gaming as much, my thumbs aren't as quick as they used to be

I'm really good at FPS'ers, and I've got some ability behind the wheel too.

But when it comes to arcade style fighters (mortal combat, tekken, etc.)? My goodness. Just terrible. I'm not even mediocre at best. Just consistently terrible at those kind of games.

Battlefield games are the only online shooters I can even rank on, and I usually play RPGs on easy. I'm here for an adventure and a story, not to shoot/cut an enemy five thousand times before watching it go down.

I've been playing games since PONG in the 70s and I've always been a bad player. Let's put if this way, I play the easiest setting on a game and it's challenging for me.

I'm all thumbs. I play console so it helps.
I realized I was crap last night when I kept trying to open VATS in SKYRIM .
I can still hand it out to my son when we play Soul Calibur or DC vs Mortal, poor kid I never let him win .

Actually my VG skills are pretty decent, I can normally beat any game I come across and there's only been a handful of games I haven't beat yet.
