The rename does not seem to work on the STEAM release. If the .exe is renamed and run directly from the renamed .exe, STEAM says the game is not available. If the EXE is copied, then the copied EXE is renamed and then run, Steam launches the game, but the issue remains, likely because Steam is still going to use the Crysys2.exe file, no matter if you run a 2nd copy renamed.

Same flickering problem with my ATI 4870x2 using Crossfire.

It appears to be the light "bloom" effect alternating frames, as if only one of the GPUs is rendering that effect.

Unfortunately, I aslo have the same problem as TheDON3k. Renaming the .exe (which tricks the drivers into using the Rift Crossfire profile) does not work for Steam users because Steam looks for the specific "Crysis2.exe".

Any suggestion would be helpful.

[Edit: Relevant specs: 4870x2, CCC 11.2 driverset with 11.2 Crossfire profiles, Win7x64, Crysis 2 LE via Steam, "Extreme" graphics setting in-game, V-sync on.]

[Edit2: Turning Crossfire off ("Disable Catalyst A.I.") alleviated the problem.]

Just for the sake of giving off some information, I'm an Nvidia guy, 2x 470 sc Cards in SLI and I'm having no issues with lastest (NON BETA) drivers. Since Nvidia hasn't released legit drivers yet to enable SLI in Crysis 2 I'm not going to use BETA build drivers just for the sake of a performance increase. Also as an FYI when I did test the 267 beta release drivers that had Crysis 2 SLI support I did indeed have bad flickering lights, the water looked really jumpy and flickered as well. Not sure if ATI has released legit Crossfire drivers for Crysis 2 but if you are using beta build drivers or you used the ATI catalyst control center to edit the Crysis 2 EXE to force Crossfire, that's not a good idea at all. So I would say disable SLI/Crossfire if it's giving anyone issues until it's fixed. Also not sure if it was stated but I have my Nvidia Control panel to enable SLI, I just don't have Crysis 2 SLI supporting drivers.

Just incase you need my build info:
Intel 2600k @ 4.8ghz
Asus P8P67 Deluxe
8 GIGS G.Skill Ripjaws DDR3 Ram.
Corsair H70
Corsair AX1200

Hmmm, so everyone here is using cross-fire . How bout a single 5970 ? So the only way now is either play in windows mode and just wait for a patch ? Tried playing in windows mode but it felt more laggy/chuggy then playing in full screen mode. No one here using a single 5970 having this problem ?

I'm getting the flickering on my NVidia set-up.

3 way SLI gtx480's and latest NV beta drivers. Making the game unplayable. Looks like ass.

How bout a single 5970 ?

FYI, a single 5970 actually has two 5870 chips (they could have called it a "5870x2"), so it is a Crossfire card.

Just disable Crossfire (check the "Disable Catalyst A.I." box in CCC), should be fine until they release a proper Crossfire profile or game patch.

How on earth did someone figure out the re-naming crysis.exe to rift.exe thing? But it worked for me. Thanks.

I have the Alienware laptop with 2 5870's. I'm wishing I would have went with nvidia though cause I like nvidia better and I have had ton's of problems with ATI and also no 3D :(. Should have opted for stability instead of at that time performance.

hey guys i'm closing this thread so we don't have two topics on the same thing, please post in this thread in future: http://www.gamesas.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=10994

We are currently investigating this issue, if you could post your PC spec in the thread above it would help us to resolve it faster.
