I agree with the OP. And you know what? Everyone (well, maybe except the people in the PTR) is inexperienced at this game.
I'm not a good player. I'd say I'm a pretty average player, and I'm sure some would say I'm terrible. I just feel that one of the greatest pleasures in a game comes from learning new skills, figuring out puzzles, and meeting challenges. Therefore, for the game to be fun, it has to have stuff that feels "too hard" at first. Of course, if you have that, some people will respond by improving, and some will respond by getting frustrated and complaining. It seems like the trend is to give those people what they say they want, ultimately making the game boring - yes, even for the people who complained.
Actually, this brings to mind another reason I like the solo instances: they give us a chance to fail in private. I would not ask a group to put up with me dying to a dungeon boss seven times, but that's what it took for me to down Norion, and damn, I felt good when I finally did - and I was better at the game than when I started, too.
Edit: Gutsripper I attempted five times a level below, but got him on the first try at level. Doshia I got on the second try, but I'd read about the strategy on the forums beforehand.
