Bain Conversion File

Post » Wed Aug 18, 2010 3:01 pm

i read the little help thing on the wrye bash page on how to do it but its not working. i put the zip file in the bain converted folder and added the "-BCF.7z" to the end of the file name. i exited it and went into the installers window of wrye but nothing comes up. what am i doing wrong? and yes the file is already packaged for bain so i am clueless.

What ZIP file? You should not modify a BCF's name, no need to add whatever that is. If the file is already BAIN-Ready, put the package in the Bash Installers folder, not the converters folder.

What is the name of the mod? Did you put the ZIP file into the Bash Installers folder? I just do not see what this has to do with BCFs.

lol srry let me explain.

i downloaded RBP (race balancing project) and it downloads in a zip file. i opened the zip file and it has the different files like "00 Core Files" and so on. so i open up wrye, go to the installers page, righ click on the package tab and select open. this opens up the bain installers folder and in it there is a bain converters folder and a bash folder.

from what i read on the wrye sight im supposed to add -BCF.7z at the end of the zip file and place it in the bain converters folder.

so i am really confused on what to do now :banghead:

You are confused. BAIN Conversion Files are a completely different feature that you do not need to deal with if you have BAIN-friendly packages. I do not know where users get the idea that downloaded mod archives need to be extracted. This is often an unnecessary step, especially for OBMM users. Just put the package in the Bash Installers folder. Change the name back to how it was. Telling your OS that a ZIP file is a 7-zip file just scrambled all applications ability to properly deal with that package, most likely...

Edit: BAIN Conversion Files are one of the more advanced features of BAIN.
