Ballistic Weave... Just why cant I....

Post » Sat Mar 05, 2016 2:10 am

Wow this comment is oblivious and far from the point. Its not my personal taste that matters but the ability to have options as previously stated... The game Already has the options in it.... But you are unable to add ballistics to them... The only difference between them is ascetics... So there is absolutely no reason for them not to be compatible with ballistic weave. So yeah giving us a total of 4 options is not good enough when others exist in the game. Its not childish its practical and I paid money to stare at it for 200+ hours.

Hopefully they will patch this in eventually, and it makes sense that it would be there aswell.

As in most Beth games.. they seem to really like to make you have to choose functional vs. looking cool. As I've pointed out in other threads.. at high levels with lots of hp you no longer need any armor. Kind of a bonus for getting to a high level is being able to wear whatever the hell you want. Hazmat suit has no armor, yet I did the entire glowing sea in a hazmat suit.. Armor really only adds a bit of protection.. if you do some comparing you'll find that in most cases, any amount of armor wouldn't have kept you alive that much longer in a life or death situation. It was the same in Skyrim.. at high levels I stopped wearing armor.. There was no need for it anymore. I ran around in nothing but the mourners dress.

After 600 hours in game (actually it set in WAY before that!) I can't find much in the way of clothes for my guy that I like all that much. But I REALLY love some of these for him:

and I like this for my female companions (and some settlers too):

oooooh nooooooo they didn't make EVERY piece of clothing compatible with an OP modification! the travesty! they put limitations on tons of other modifications in the game. "why can't I layer armor with _____ piece of clothing". there's a limit to what they're going to do, but obviously not a limit to what people will complain about lol

Yeah, what you can add ballistic weave to & what you can't is weird it's a little annoying like the guide saying a vault suit was in the game & it is cut content. I do hope they add more hat & wear options we can add ballistic weave to in dlc.

I took a quick look at all the outfits and clothing that could take Ballistic Weave a while ago, and the only real answer I can find as to what's supposed to have it and what isn't is "someone [censored] up". No matter how you try to look at it, more of the outfits that you can't layer armor over can take Ballistic Weave than armor-compatible clothing that can take it. It really seems like Ballistic Weave was meant to make outfits stand up a bit better to armor+clothing, and probably wasn't intended to be applied to hats at all, but again, someone [censored] up, we have some clothing and hats that can take it, and those just blow all the outfits out of the water in terms of defense since they stack with armor.

Yeah clearly once you've upgraded 3 the ugliest possible gear your job is done.

they should of allowed any clothe based item to be able to use ballistic weave. They also should not of made it connected to a quest. I should not have to do a quest line just to be able to gain access to it or even talk to anyone.

Well, in the case of the vault jumpsuit I think it might be the fact that you can already upgrade it to improve the energy and radiation resistance, so it might have been a bit more work to code in the ballistic weave for that.

I do think there are many players that would be happy to forgo the radiation resistance in favor of the ballistic and energy resistance that weave would give the vault jumpsuit, but that all I can think of as a possible reason; it was already an upgradable piece of clothing.

Having said that, there is a long list of clothing that isn't upgradable in any way and I would certainly like to see the Road Leathers be added to the list of clothing that can be upgraded with ballistic weave.

> I love newsboy cap and it's BW-ed now.

But I can't BW an army helmet.

> I BW-ed a Greaser Jacket for Piper.

But I can't BW a Road Leather.

> I BW-ed Tattered Rags.

But not Raider Leather or the Long Johns.

> I BW-ed Minutemen Shirt and Green Shirt to add extra protection under my armor set.

But not Synth Uniform and BOS Uniform.

LOLZ...

Oh well. Hopefully they can put this into consideration next time.

Just why not Traveling Leather Coat? WHY? It even has gloves which is a big deal on consoles dammit. There's like 2 cool outfits that come with gloves, neither are BW-able and this totally a bummer man.

The inability to make a light armor/clothes behave like kevlar reinforced battle armor ruins 'realism'... ?

ok.... :banghead:

(I'm not sure that realism has much connection to Ballistic Weave... :ahhh: )
