[Relz] Bananasplit's Better Cities - Thread 34

Post » Tue Feb 01, 2011 11:17 pm

version 4.6.0b fixes the issue and has just been uploaded. Sorry for this but at least it is not the resources files which needed fixes but only the smaller file. ;)

Good things you guys are so quick. ^___^

Thanks again!

Just what are you patching to make omg compatible with better imperial city?
The incompatibilities seems worse now than before, at least initially before 4th era events are kicked off.
The ayleid ruins and bars that encircle the ground tower blocks all doors added by omg to that tower.
also a pillar is partially blocking the the mages council quarters door.

barring that, i love the new eyecandy added...keeps improving.

Which version of OMG are you using? We patched the version 7.3...

I'm using v 7.3
The doors added to the arch mage's tower was only added after v 7 of omg.
Are the ayleid ruins and bars a new addition or have they always been there, but blocked by the fps patches? (only just recently stopped using fps patches)

The bars have always been there, and are probably disabled by the FPS patch.

The doors behind the bars don't link anywhere prior to the 4th era events, and thus there is no point in being able to access them. Upon triggering the 4th era events in OMG, the bars get disabled, giving access. All the doors have been aligned to be behind bars, not Ayleid Ruins, so once the bars are disabled in front of each of the three doors, the Ruins arches align perfectly above the doors.

If a pillar is blocking the Mages Council door, I would suggest it is not from Better Cities. Perhaps you could provide a screenshot?

Good job with the new release guys, but next release, install the OMOD and test the BC mod before you upload it so we don't have to go through two versions and a start-game CTD again.

Giskard has very kindly offered some advice with regards a potential issue with the mine doors from CUO Chorrol when using our compatibility patches. I've taken a look and I'm pleased to confirm that his worries were unfounded, Giskard can rest assured that the replacement doors will work just as well as the original doors (which as every good modder knows cannot simply be moved, as doors - being persistent objects - once loaded into a player's game will stay where they started regardless of where you move them later - unless you move them with a script of course, but as every good patcher knows, that's not the way to deal with persistent objects unless you have no choice!).

yeah would love too...only how do I do that?
Printscreen button does not work..it only produces a screenshot of the oblivion window all in black.

Download and install http://www.fraps.com/download.php, it's free. Use it to create screenshots.

Or, for more flexibility (and no watermark) than the free version of Fraps, there's also http://www.inspire-soft.net/?nav=soft_screenshoter - worth a look, perhaps. Additionally, there's http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=733, but if - and only if, presumably - you have an ATI Radeon graphics card. But again, free and no watermark.

The free version has fewer available file formats for screenshots is all (only considering the screenshot feature.)

Ah. I was thinking of video capture! Heh.

But anyway, what I was meaning by more flexibility was indeed the range of file formats, yes. Something qutie a few people seem to prefer having, it would seem. That's all. :)

I prefer to get screenshots as bitmaps, since they are uncompressed and thus crisp quality. I can compress them as JPEGs later if I need to upload them :) Thus for me Fraps is perfect as BMPs are what the free version produces.

Yeah, doesn't bother me either, truth be told. But the number of times I've seen people complain about it... thought I'd mention a couple of alternatives. ;)

I prefer PNGs. They are also lossless, and they resize well.

BMP files are large and bloated. Generally frowned upon by the bandwidth conscious. PNG is good, JPG is better, and JPG can be saved at 100% quality.

Paint.NET has a quality slider when you select to save as a jpg. Just run that up to 100%. GIMP does too. Couldn't tell you if Photoshop does, and I haven't cracked open MSPaint in ages so I don't remember.

Oh, I meant for taking screen shots. I have not been disappointed in anything I have done with my photo editors (Paint.NET and GIMP here too.)
