Your mod will need to be dependent on our ESM, and must redirect the parent worldspace of every IC District you edit (except Waterfront) to Tamriel2.

Thanks for the tip about the waterfront. Everything looks fine now.

Hi,

I found what I think is an error in one of the dialog result scripts in "Better Cities Resources.esm". The FormId is 9456, where the result script is "SetStage 00BMTCShackQuest 10".

The problem is that "00BMTCShackQuest" is no existing quest, so the dialog topic will not compile. I assume it should say "SetStage BANBravilShackQuest 10" instead.

Edit: The same problem is for the formId 9450 as well.

You've got "FormID Finder4.esp", I suggest you use it to find which mod placed those up there.

It was a faulty LOD generation that screwed it... (Tes4LODGen)
Re-ran it and it now works :D

Installed the full 4.3.8 with city defenses yesterday, noticed some FPC drop but negligible (maintain 17-25 at Streamline & Stutter Remover 15-30, so I can live with this :D).

So far visited Chorrol & Leyawiin and am deeply impressed.

However, found out I forgot to ask about impeREAL Empire - Unique castles - Merged.esp. Should I deactivate it for full BC experience or keep it?

Disable - all the unique city castles have been incorporated into Better Cities, so using both would be redundant, would have a needless excess impact on FPS, and might cause visual glitches in-game when viewing the castles :)

Im just trying to identify some graphical anomalies. there is a large straight seam where the terrain mismatches with the Let The People Drink mod near the south side of the auquaduct.



I originally thought that the seam was an incompatibility between Better Cities and Let The People Drink, which would be strange considering how high profile both of these are, and that there is actually a BC patch for LTPD compatibility.

Well now I think I know the answer! I loaded up my new list without the Grey Tide house-ship mod (which adds a dock and ship at the east end of the Waterfront dock)...and there is no more seam! Its neither BC nor LTPD. Its the http://oblivionsrealestate.com/Water_Homes_Challenge/water_homes_challenge.html that is incompatible with one or both of the former. Grey Tide IS an excellent mod, and the incompatibility seems to be merely the visual terrain seam mismatch. I suspect that the author moved some of the shoreline on the opposite bank of the port.

Oh; That's quite different!
There ARE some slight texture and seaming imperfections with LtPD (all by itself) but nothing like that. Glad to hear that you cleared your problem up though. :D

The most exciting feature in this new release is certainly the ability to travel from port to port now thanks to Better Cities. For this, you will need to go into the Port Authority of each Harbour and ask for your ticket. The travel itself is done from interior to interior so our Vampire "friends" wont get caught into the sun. (Those who use drink/food/sleep mods will probably die on trips going or coming from Anvil so better not use those).

Otherwise a new replacer was created for "http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=3849" most definitely to clean the mod and enhance its compatibility with UL Cheydinhal Falls as well as Better Cities. As for all replacers, you still need to download the mod to have the resources (voices in this case) included with it.

A question about doors to the player-owned houses. BBC replaces the door to the player house in Bruma, but that is the only one right? And is the formID of the new door is the same for Better Cities full, and Better Cities Bruma?

Yes, I believe that is the only one, and yes, the Form ID will be identical in Better Cities Bruma, Better Cities Full, and Better Cities Full B&M.

Thanks. I'm adding house tax as a feature to Enhanced Economy, and the result of not paying taxes is that the door to your house will be locked, so I need to get the right formID to lock for full BC compatibilities.

Before anyone else spots it, I'll report a missing mesh in Better Cities :) In Bravil Docks there is a shop named Kashmir's Fresh Fish. For the latest release we added a sign to the front of the building, unfortunately I entered the path to locate the mesh incorrectly, so while the mesh does exist in the BC Complement BSA, it won't appear in-game. I'll correct this for our next release!

im updating from 4.3.2 to the 4.4.0 one. i downloaded them from nexus today. for some reason the omod script doesnt seem to be working. i recently updated to windows 64 so im not sure if thats the issue or what.

the better cities esps seems to install fine as i get the questions about installing extras and everything however it doesnt fill in the info like it normally does when making the omod. the resources pack on the other hand neither fills in the info nor does it seem to install the better cities esp file. i had to manually install it and im still getting mesh errors ingame. thanks for any help.

edit: i just checked the omod script and it doesnt seem to include the better cities esp on initial install.

If you updated from the 4.3.2 version you didn't have to change the main resources as they are still the same as from version 4.3.2. So the omod script didn't change since then and it does install the Better Cities .esp properly ( CopyPlugin "00 Core\\Better Cities .esp" "Better Cities .esp" )

For the esp archive, what do you call the extras?, what do you can the fill in infos? As far I can tell and by the lack of complaints, everything seems fine.

You asked about the resources pack, not the resource update :)

The resource update doesn't include the "Better Cities .esp" file as it is in the resource pack (which you should already have installed), so it wouldn't have been mentioned in the OMOD script.

It is an UPDATE, not a replacement file, so you install it AFTER having the main resource pack installed. Follow the installation instructions carefully and you'll see that you are never instructed to uninstall the main resource pack before installing the update.

ok thanks. yeah i unpacked the main file into a folder and overwrote the files with the update which also overwrote the script. i just peeked and noticed they are different scripts. thanks again. :)

as for trhe fill in info thing thats probably something im used to from other mods. i have so many omods that it gets a bit confusing as to which ones at the name and version info and which ones dont.

I was pleased to notice that with BBC installed I have much better light indoors.

I never installed any of the Illumination Within series and now I see I've missed a lot.

As happy as I am with my new lights indoors I have to ask:
Will the lights indoors if I add any Illumination Within (Revived Retrofitted was my guess) mod or it would be redundant?

Will the lights indoors if I add any Illumination Within (Revived Retrofitted was my guess) mod or it would be redundant?

Illumination Within doesn't alter the interior lights as far I know. It is just there to put some lights on the windows at night. But for that I would suggest you use http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=19628 which is compatible with everything (as long it uses vanilla buildings meshes) and without any FPS hit in contrary to Illumination Within.
