So I assume that, as you've not mentioned any patches for, er, the other mods by the same author, that it's all compatible?

I would think so (Vorians is pretty good about compatibility patches), but make sure you clean them with TES4Edit first. Those mods are known for having a lot of junk attached to them.

If our archive includes a compatibility patch for one of his mods, then it needs that patch to be compatible. Any of his mods where we have not provided a compatibility patch should be fully compatible already, either because I made adjustments within the main BC files themselves to ensure this, or just out of luck, since no effort was made to be compatible by the other modder.

I have discovered an Exit City Exploit in Bravil while practicing my Acrobatics just now.

http://img267.imageshack.us/img267/7140/exitcityexploitbbc.jpg This is the crack in the wall next to the Ballista tower, very close to the main gate, and as easy to get to as walking up a couple flights of stairs and making an easy jump onto a rooftop. It is then possible to jump out of the city here.

Might be able to compensate simply by moving that chimney a little closer to the wall (the collision on it seems to be off).

Once you're on the city walls, you can also simply jump over the battlements anywhere along the walls, not just at that location. Chimneys are attached to buildings, so they cannot be moved without also relocating the entire structure below! Chimney and building, it's all one mesh.

Anyone acrobatic enough or desiring enough to get onto the walls (and in Bravil there's actually a section of wall you can simply walk to the top of from the ground) should use their common sense and recognise that jumping off the walls is "not a good idea" - those who do jump over need to increase their Intelligence and/or Willpower attributes to curb these suicidal tendencies.

That's a vanilla texture found in the file "Oblivion - Textures - Compressed.bsa" so if you're missing it, you've probably got vanilla BSA problems. Totally unrelated to BC. Maybe you need to update your BSA invalidation settings, however you are handling this?

Strange... this is the only vanilla texture the game has tripped on ever with this install.

OBMM probably screwed up on the BSA Alteration. I'll check again with Redirection only.

EDIT: Actually, it was just FormID Finder being stupid. The icon was never missing at all.

I seem to be missing sign textures, and only on things Better Cities added. I used all three main files from Nexus.

Is it possible to make a compatibility patch for Strotis ic player home? I have left a request at that author's site as well, hopefully this can be done? Regardless thanks for a great mod.

Also, have you heard of any problems with BC and Midas Magic? I know Midas adds a building in the Imperial City, so I'm just wondering if there's been any reported cases of conflicts between the two.

I don't recall any conflict reports for Midas Magic. If it's not listed in the opening post of this thread, then assume that we don't know either way and give it a try.

Th3Sa1n7 when requesting a compatibility patch, you need to provide a link to the mod in question before we would even consider it.

Even after reading the readme, I am still not certain about the open cities option. Is this already included or is this in the works? If its not included yet, does the "Old Open Better Cities 3.1" conflict with Better Cities 4.8.4?

The changelog does state what has been done so far. Anvil, Bruma, Cheydinhal, Chorrol and Skingrad include an option to switch on Open Better Cities. Leyawiin is in the works at the moment, and Bravil has not been done yet. Old OBC (OOBC) is really out-dated now, and is better not used, but if you really want to, then ensure that you use the BC ESM not the OOBC ESM, and do not use the FULL ESPs from either mod, and do not use an ESP from either mod if you are using an ESP from the other mod for the same city. Otherwise, they're probably still compatible unless something in the BC ESM which OOBC uses has been edited so that OOBC no longer finds it, in which case OOBC may not work fully correctly.

So far for me everything is working great! However, I noticed that in the bath house in the market district, the water is black. I did a search and couldn't find anything. The water doesn't appear to be black anywhere else. I have better water HD installed, and have all reflections enabled; not sure if that could be the issue or not.

Possible graphics issue and question about containers

First off, let me say that I've been using BC for years. I can't play without it, great mod.

However, I'm seeing two issues with my current (just created) mod setup that I "think" may be BC related.

The first one is something I've never seen in all the years I've played Oblivion. Coming out of the sewers (so, finishing the beginning tutorial) I headed up the hill towards IC. Then, every so often as soon as I left the dock area, my screen would go blank. Here are the details.
1. By "blank" screen I mean that my entire screen was a flat light blue in color. My HUD was still visible, the sound was still working, but other than that, nothing except a blank screen.
2. If I went to first person, the graphics immediately pop back. If I go back to 3rd person, the graphics immediate disappear and all I see is the empty blue screen (HUD is visible and sound still working).
3. This only occurs looking towards the city. And, only at particular angles located at particular positions. So, I can go back and repeat the issue at the same place. When it happens, I can move/look slightly to one side, or move forward/backward, and the graphics pop back in and out of view.
4. It only occurs when I'm standing still or if I'm running. Doesn't seem to occur when I'm walking (or, it happens so fast I don't notice it).
5. It does not occur once I get close to the city (say, 10 yards) away. And, it does not occur inside the city.
6. When I installed BC, I select "no" when asked it I wanted to view IC when distant (or, something similar). I also said "no" when it asked if I wanted the FPS patches.
7. I do have the latest BC version.
8. I don't have any of the yellow "missing textures" icons/markings.

I have not gone to any other cities yet, or approached IC from a different direction. Other than that issue (which is very immersive breaking : ), the graphics are incredibly nice.

It doesn't show in the above list, but I also have Bomret's detailed textures and CorePC (sp?) Vibrant mod and patch.

The second issue that I "think" may be related to BC is that all the containers (or, the ones I've tested) in BC seem to be flagged as "owned". That is, when you place the hand over the container, the hand is red. I don't ever recall that before. That is, I thought that I was always able to take anything from any of the containers. I don't think I'm running anything else that would cause that (the game before I had TIE and EE installed, but this is an entirely new install and I don't think either has ever touched the game. I do have COBL, but I don't think it does that. Maybe I should check. Also, I'm running FRANS (no items version), but I'm pretty sure it doesn't affect the containers. I tried looking for a BC ini file to see if that was an option that was switchable, but I don't see any BC ini.

Anyway, if anyone has any ideas about the above issues, I'd sure like to hear them.

There are 2 required resources files, but the readme only mentions installing one of them. Do I install only the "permanent" version, or 4.8.1? Or do I install both of them, and if so, in what order?
