Well since they are going to have a lot of new things in skyrim, y not give the player the choice to join a band and have guitar hero like game play. If we can join a band i want to be the drummer!!!

We don't know if there will even be any bands, much less if we can join them.

And I'm sorry to say, I'm not a fan of that idea.

Oh god, please no. I'm sorry but that would be a terrible idea, probably the only instrument that will be available anyway will be the lute.

In Oblivion you could visit the heart of the Imperial Empire but you still could not join the imperial guard.

Todd Howard said factions will "different than what we've done before." So it's quite possible.

Because "different" means "all your dreams will become true!"

I'm pretty sure he means that the factions themselves will function differently in some way, not that we can join every npc faction.
