Crysis 2 cheat protection is a **** joke. Whatever security updates Crytek has applied are a miserable failure. There are still plenty of level 50, aimbot, one-shot from aross map douchebags playing on the servers. Everything about this game is going quickly downhill. I fear that with Cryek's terrible update/patch history, that Crysis 2 will die out quickly and lose whatever fanbase it has left. **** YOU TOO CRYTEK!
Oh please, this "1 week, no patch" thing is trivial compared to what I've seen. I've waited months upon months for an update to a game that had far less content and wasn't even close to being finished. I bet half this community doesn't even know the true meaning of waiting. Just be glad that Crytek is actually working on patches.

This entirely.
As I posted in another thread, I love how everyone acts like leaving cheat commands in is something no other company has ever done, comepletely forgetting about how Counter-Strike Source has had exploit commands in it that were not restricted, such as seeing through walls. One of which wasn't even patched until about 2 months ago.

Black Ops had it so you had a constant UAV (radar) up so you knew where the enemies were at all times

Modern Warfare 2 had infinite ammo, javelin glitch, infinite carepackages, god mode, custom ranked games, etc. Do we still want to use the argument that Crysis 2 is the worst game ever made? lol

way to go Crytek
that will teach them

1/4 - Another small update has been made to our security measures against cheating, if you're finding yourself kicked from a server and banned for 1 hour, it is because our system has flagged you as utilizing an unfair advantage over other players. To avoid this in future you should use a default install of Crysis 2.

need a good facepalm image please

Thank you MJCNE, i didnt think that Crytek knew about that problem. Im sure if you make a thread about it that it will get their attention...

Seriously, they said the security updates will happen one step at a time. I dont see how people dont understand that

-fuzz

Yeah...guess most people are still in shock that a game they paid $60 bucks has no type of anti-cheat system...or the lack of any kind of protection to reduce the attack surface of the game (edit with notepad and done!). Or at least making MP data and such server based so they could I don't know..check its data vs what is on the client machine is reporting using such things like files with checksums and hashing...I dunno. Or preventing the ability for randomly generated serial numbers being used to access official servers (sounds like their number generating scheme was discoverd..thats what happens when you cut corners). Kind of silly of them to expect some sort of administration ability to kick hackers from a server...hah! Silly people expecting such things for a measly $60 bucks for, pfft! Guess they should just be gratful for being able to PAY Crytek for the privilage of playing their beta! Right fuzz?

A lot of video games are essentially BETAs when they come out now. Everyone knows the issues already. Get over it & be patient or stop playing.

What was I thinking! Everyone is doing it, that makes it perfectly acceptable! How dare I expect better and developers to learn lessons from past mistakes of others!
With people like you around why would they though...when they know they can produce crap and you will not only buy it but defend said crap!

So the lesson for PC gamers is:

1. Pre-Order and release date buying of games is 99% of the time, a bad idea.

2. Most games priced at $60 bucks or more are not worth anymore then $20.

3. All developers who cross-platform which includes PC are guilty of shoddy, dumbed down consolized games until proven innocent.

Yea, i said as well that the best policed servers are through admins/rcon users. Although there is room for human error as well like when the DCOM server banned me yesterday >.<

-fuzz
There's always one asshole who thinks being an admin makes you a god or something.

I prefer to find one decent community and stick with their servers, Moongamers is where I used to play and admin.

yea and that svcked so bad. Crysis 2 is better cuz you RARELY get much UAV out compared to Black Ops. Don't compare both games please because it's engineered different.

Banned for 1 hour. Come back online, hack again, banned for another hour almost immediately. Soon enough, permanant ban.

It's a fair system giving a chance for people to correct their mistakes in case they have a change of heart. But if they remain the same way, they get a permanant ban. Simple, it's not that hard >_> And you idiots are scolding crytek for it. **** ridiculous.

wow, Crytek gave the cheaters an extra hour to go cheat in another game - nice friggin' penalty box that is. i mean, thanks for eliminating the threat, now we only have to play with cheaters for 23 hours a day. hey Cryhack, how about you make us an update that gives the honest players an anti-cheat armor upgrade for the suit. Yeah! every time i see a cheater, i'll activate MAXIMUM PUNKBUSTER and ban their entire PC from the internet - for life. seriously, how did we go from working to eliminate cheaters to giving them time-out. i guess you're being merciless in some fashion(?) - you're at least forcing these losers to crap, shower, eat, and do laundry - woe is cheating. at least for one hour a day, their moms wont be banging on the floor because these crack-pots are making too much noise in the basemant..way to go Cryhack..not only did you NOT eliminate cheating - you eliminated the opinions of every one who believed you were serious about it..whats next on your list of eliminations - well, i mean after the PC fans..yeah, that one there, yeah number 2..OH!..wouldnt'cha know it..your companies reputation..*golf clap*..

pssh..im just joshin'..

WOW, you must be really stupid and love being cheated.
No, I don't like getting cheated. I'm just saying that I've seen situations much worse than this. Do you really think Crytek would spend all that money and time on C2 just to give up on release and alienate their playerbase, which provides them with income? Doubtful.

Also, I've known community managers who wouldn't release a specific date for an upcoming patch. Now I see why. As soon as a community gets a whiff of a date of release for a patch, they whine if they don't get it. You'll get it. I'll bet $$$$$ money on it.
