banned for 1 hour ROFLMAO

Post » Mon Oct 25, 2010 1:38 pm

way to go Crytek
that will teach them

1/4 - Another small update has been made to our security measures against cheating, if you're finding yourself kicked from a server and banned for 1 hour, it is because our system has flagged you as utilizing an unfair advantage over other players. To avoid this in future you should use a default install of Crysis 2.

need a good facepalm image please

Wasn't there something about getting banned once, and then second time was permanent?

... I have a autoexec.cfg ... but the only thing I wrote in it, is the "skipintro" comand!

Would that be enough for a ban, or is that ok?

I have a bunch of commands for graphics in my autoexec, does that mean I will get banned because they forgot to put in advanced options?

This seems fair enough to me - people who have modified some file to get an advantage can't play, simple. I don't know what modification they are talking about because I have a modified autoexec.cfg but I have received no messages.

I have modified autoexec.cfg and didn't receive any bans. I played about for an hour.

Just logged in to see if this made any difference.

1st match found = 4 level 50's and a 49. I left before it even started

2nd match found = 2 aimbotters that were there from start to finish and then were still there in the second game meaning they werent detected or kicked or "banned for 1 hour"

This has to be an April Fools joke. It has to. Either that or just a blatant lie.

Player: "Crytek why are there still hackers?"
Crytek: "Well we did ban them for an hour, we promise. Honestly we did. We wouldnt lie to you. Trust us."

I haven't noticed any obvious hackers for a day or two now. No lvl50 players either.

Seriously, a 1 hour is ban is ridiculous. Pirated copies of the game should not be able to connect whatsoever, let alone only be worried about a 1 hour ban.

A person with aimbot probably gets more points and hard to get medals in one match than I can get in an hour. So it is definitely no big deal to them.

It's pointless anyway because like I said I just logged in and there's still aimbotters etc. so this isn't doing anything at all.

Seems to me you guys think this is the anti-cheat system. It is probably just a warning system so that "honest" players know that they have to change something in their config. It also lets the person know that theyre already being watched by the said system and if problems continue there could be more severe punishments

So TC, this is what you want to happen:

- User signs in with autoexec.cfg, forgot to remove GodMode or something
- User gets banned permanently

That's totally fair. Part of making a good anti-cheat system is not screwing over the innocent guys.

If it was a good system it would just ignore godmode and things like that would be serverside. When you can just edit .xmls, the game's horribly coded.

My favorite part of all this whining, is you guys coming in telling them to use punkbuster, as if punkbuster has ever worked in the 10+ years its been around.

they need to fix the fake serial issue, without that beeing fixed, cheaters dont give a damn about a 1 hour ban.

Thank you MJCNE, i didnt think that Crytek knew about that problem. Im sure if you make a thread about it that it will get their attention...

Seriously, they said the security updates will happen one step at a time. I dont see how people dont understand that
