Bard Songs

Just curious to see your opinions. I personally like "Tale of the Tongues" the best, but I enjoy hearing all of them, Bards add a lot of life to the otherwise (kinda) empty inns.
By the way, if you never heard of "Tale of the Tongues", it is because you must beat the main quest to be able to enjoy it.

None. Damn Bards do nothing but disturb the peace they do. I killed that Bard in Riverwood, and people sent me thank-you-notes for it.

Bards are the single biggest threat to Skyrim, and as Dragonborn it is my duty and destiny to free the land of their oppressive flute playing.

Lol, you made me remember the...
Spoiler
DB quest that you sent to kill a bard so bad Astrid had to choose the client by some random game, because half of the town wanted him dead.

Ragnar the Red is awesome.

Indeed, it is pretty hilarious, and even the carriage drivers sing it.

I'm partial to The Dragonborn Comes.

Of course, Song of the Dragonborn blows it out of the water, but none of the bards know it.

Nuz aan sul, fent alok, fod fin vul dovah nok,
Fen kos nahlot mahfaeraak ahrk ruz!
Paaz Keizaal fen kos stin nol bein Alduin jot,
Dovahkiin, Dovahkiin, naal ok zin los vahriin,
Wah dein vokul mahfaeraak ahst vaal!
Ahrk fin norok paal graan fod nust hon zindro zaan,
Dovahkiin, fah hin kogaan mu draal!

I do have a little complaint about the bards. Why do they have to have such a long pause between lines? svcks the energy out of the piece when there's a two second delay between each line.

The best sounding song for me, I can't remember the details, I think it was Dragonborn Comes but only when sang by a specific bard (Solitude maybe?), she has a great voice.

Ragnar the Red when sang by a female bard in a northern town (Windhold?) is kind of interesting. She gets kind of crazy at the end, artistic freedom I guess...

The dragonborn comes. Specifically that video that's been floating around. The in game bards are tone deaf. And the first time I heard it was while watching my stepdad play at my family's house and I was making jokes about Lydia watching him and his wife and then spreading the story cuz all I heard at first was "the dragonborn comes" lol we had almost as many laughs as when we discovered the move item button in oblivion and spent almost an hour rearranging goblin corpses into awkward poses (juvenile I know but don't judge, there was whiskey involved)

I haven't heard them all yet but I always request The Dragonborn Comes. It was a great idea to have bards and entertainment in the taverns when we stop in for a drink and to unwind after a busy day fighting dragons. I think they did a great job on this. Even more of it would be cool.

I agree, only reason I can think of is compression issues (it needs time to load), but normal dialogue loads normaly. Maybe its by design, who knows.

Gotta Iove all the different voices the bards have. Too bad there are only five songs in the game :sadvaultboy:

My personal favourite is "Tale Of The Tongues" but only when it's sang by the chick in the Winking Skeever.

I was baffled by that too. I thought there had to be some technical issue behind it as well but then again, any issue at this level would surely be only a minor issue with an easy fix for a game of this scale.

Maybe there are some gameplay related reasons. For example, with regular breaks they can make the bard react to something else that's happening without cutting the song between a verse or without being stuck playing the whole thing.

Maybe mods can fix it though.

Mods will surely fix it, and more. Hopefully some creative modder adds a song or two. Also, I do not know why, but I have a feeling that a mod will techno-remix the songs, lol.

I love all of them, even if I haven't heard "Tale of the Toungues" yet. There should be tons more.

There should be at least a few more bard songs to listen to in Skyrim, I pity the world that has only 4 songs!
