Base clothing better than your trusty vault 111 suit?

Post » Mon Nov 30, 2015 10:04 am

So, yeah. Title says it all.

I find it stupid and quite frankly unbelievable that you start your journey wearing literally the best clothing in terms of resistances and customising while still being able to put armour over it..

Sure, the harness may look cool with certian builds.. But it still isnt as effective as your trusty vault 111 suit

Has anyone came across anything that you can
A. Still customise
B. Doesnt cause you to de-equip armour
C. Has some form of liable damage/energy/rad resistance
D. (Not required but.. Yknow) doesnt look god-awful?

I love my Army Fatigues that I found in a house in Concord. They add 1 Strength and 1 Agility and can be worn under my armor pieces. :)

Haven't really found anything better. I think they also add to my energy resistance, but not sure how much right now. I just know I can carry more loot LOL

They also look cool :)

You can wear five armor pieces over that suit, which can be customized. The Fatigues themselves can't be modded.

Bos armour or the clothing?
The armour is exactly the same as combat bar from giving rad resistance and the underclothes are useless dont even look nice.. Lesigh.

I mean clothing. Something thats effective but isnt the usual blue jumpsuit.

I expect a mod to address this very soon. I would love to be able to wear individual pieces on top of a trench coat or duster.

If you are fighting enemies that deal physical damage, Raider Leathers are better than the Vault Suit.

The Radiation Storms though, that Blue Vault suit looks stylish too.

I like the BoS jumpsuits quite a lot.

But I always keep my vault suit, because it's iconic and upgradable.

The fact it is what they always show a character in, should be in indicator to how much that identity is important to the Player Character in Fallout games to Bethesda. But, I agree I would like some more options in the way of upgradable clothing, at least the faction uniforms. Really kinda wish when you joined the BoS was like "Heres your uniform, Don't let me catch you not wearing it." sort of thing.

Raider leathers? For their base clothes they just use road leathers or harnasses dont they?
I mean - ALL ROUND - the vault suit seems to be the best when upgraded to your playstyle.
Which is abit dissapointing because after you enter the vault its the first thing you're given.. Seriously? in 210 years nobody came up with anything stronger than a blue "one size fits all" jumpsuit?

Yeah, with my fatigues and champion armour and army helmet, I look a bit like a cobbled together soldier. Looks more professional than most of the random scraps the raiders wear anyway.

I switched to the Black BOS uniform (took it from a certain Paladin), with combat armour, helmet and wraparound googles, from the Vault 111 suit (with the combat arnour etc) just for a change.....its is kind of weird that the 'best' modable clothing for use with the layered armour is the starting suit. Perhaps this was an attempt to keep us in the iconic vault suit since NPCs have remarked about the suit (mainly in a vault) as I passed them.

IIRC, raider leathers and road leathers provide the same DR, but they look slightly different. Harness and Vault Jumpsuits don't provide any DR.

Clothes and armor are overrated.

I deserve a better life. A better life is coming. A better life is almost here.

I'm sooo close to level two.

Pfffh, forget stats. Road leathers are the fashions. I'd rather be a road warrior than suffocate my ass cheeks any day. :disguise:
