[RELz] Bash-able Quest Delayers

Post » Mon Apr 18, 2011 2:59 pm

Sure, I don't mind. Besides, you've given me another couple of mods I haven't seen. Maybe I'll keep 'em. :icecream:
I take a look-see tonight.

NICE! :celebration:

They're supposedly pretty difficult, which is great in my opinion.

oh, and the Gates to aarsgard one and two delayer was a very welcome addition too.

Have you thought of a heart of the dead delayer? that's another brilliant mod (one of the best quests) where you get a note when you wake up in jail.

These are really nifty, mods all glomping right at the beginning always bugged me back when I actually played (a long time ago, admittedly). So kudos on that!

On the other hand... white text is just about impossible to read on the tan skin (choosing ---- Elder Scrolls-Tan from the drop-down menu on the lower left of the forum), and I imagine it's not the only skin with issues. And no matter what color you choose, there will be a skin choice that is going to have a hard time seeing it. Unfortunately, for this reason, it's pretty much always a bad idea to ever use color to try to emphasize things - because for a certain subset of forumers you'll actually be making it more difficult to read, not less.

Why can 't I ever find this tan thing and don't have the drop down menu.

I've used color on posts before and after seeing you many numerous posts about how difficult it is to see - I checked if I could change back from color fonts and it is not possible from what I can see. It only defaults to more colors not generic black.

I've already started. But, apparently, Kohdi did a "Compile All" when he wrote his two scripts. And there a are a few deleted items also. This mod is in serious need of cleaning. If you do not clean this mod, it will need to be loaded almost immediately after Oblivion.esm or all mods loaded before that may have tweaked any vanilla scripts will be reverted to vanilla.

It on my list. IIRC, someone did release a delayer, but it is not mergable.

Never thought about that. I use the "Elder Scrolls - Big Font" (my eyes aren't what they use to be) which has a dark grey / blackish background. I'll adjust the color after this post.

These delayers really are wonderful. Now I can really install a huge quest mod and just forget about it until it's time to start worrying about doing it.

A request, perhaps?
Adense Epic Dungeons (suggests level 15 to start). Could maybe prevent the portal from appearing until then?

Thanks,

I've been taking advantage of your fine work for some time now, aellis, so please forgive my tardiness in offering my thanks for the increased immersion it adds to my game. :goodjob:

One thing that has always bugged me about KOTN is that is virtually impossible to start if you really role play your character. Unless you start in Anvil and seeing the Prophet is the first thing you'll do you are almost bound to have some fame, so if you are a Lawful Good Paladin and answer truthfully "Yes, I have som fame" then you won't be able to start the quest, which leads to the absurd situation where a "True Knight" must lie in order to start the quest.
I have posted about this before, but of course that thread is purged now. :banghead: So I don't know if aything came out of some people saying they might do somthing about it.
Anyway, maybe it's something to consider including in your Mod Delayers mod?

I use most of your delayers, and their great, Thanks!

Just today I found this little quest mod, it definitely looks promising from the other peoples reviews. Could you check it out, and if you like it yourself, consider making a delayer for it? perhaps something along the lines of reaching a certain level of fame starts it?

http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=25989

Edit - Just a thought from a post I just placed on KDQ thread. What about an alteration of the start of Windfall (if you are familiar with the mod), such that Jude has a chance of not being in the market district the first time you enter it. For instance, each day there is a 25% chance he will be there, allowing probability to dictate when that mod starts.

I thought Windfall was a lower-level player mod. I am playing it at the moment, and all seems fine until now. I don't see why it needs delaying...

It is a lower level mod, and rereading my post I should have made it clear that does not need delaying, I was trying saying it would be nice if on a new character, the quest didn't always start upon your first visit to the imperial city market district. If say there was a 15 or 25% chance, you would still start the quest in the first level or two, as generally the IC market district is one of the most frequented places.

So in short, no not at all does it need a delayer, however, if your like me, and dislike the fact that fresh out of prison (or off the boat for alt start users) characters start getting all these "We need a Hero!" requests in a heavily modded game the delayers like these are appreciated.

Any news on a possible tweak for KOTN, which I mentioned earlier?
I'm in the final stages of setting up my new game and one of the last things to do is to decide on a Main Quest Delayer. As things currently are I'll use one that starts me in Anvil, but with a tweak that makes KOTN more role-play friendly I'll have more options.

Been extremely busy in rl. My business was so slow, i almost folded. But with a bit of luck I was able to hang in there.
Now things have gotten just unreal. I've been working 12+ hours a day.
I will do this. But until things slow down for me, I'm not going to be able to spend the time.
I do, however, check this forum almost daily. So when it happens, I'll PM you so you can be the first to have it.

It turns out the new Vilja doesn't need a delayer, one is already incorperated. But the new Viconia (underdarksaga.esp) does. thanks!

New updates:
Companion Vilja 2.1 and 2.2
RealSleepExtendedv2.4.2

See Post #1 for details.

The Vilja mod includes its own quest-delayer, and if delayer patches are used together with her, this might have unwanted effects, as is stated in the readme and description of Vilja.

If you are running an outdated version of Vilja (probably ver 1), you can find ver 2.2 in the link in my signature.

I have specifically stated in the readme and http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=28977&tab=6&navtag=/modules/comments/index2.php?tid=172080|:|fid=28977 that no quest delayers should be used together with the mod.

Done. Up on the Nexus.

I looked at this pretty closely. The only thing I can do without a major re-write is prevent the player from starting the quest. There is too much "stuff" without references to disable and enable the portal.

I looked at this pretty closely also. I could probably re-arrange the dialog somewhat, but it would not be mergable into a Bash Patch because of the dialog. Maybe when CBash is out of beta, I'll look at this again.
