Bashed Patch / Automatic Load Order

Post » Sat Jun 18, 2011 5:21 am

Hey guys, I changed from Oblivion to Morrowind a couple of days ago and was used to have Wyre Bash with its BoSS automatic load order feature and its bashed patch to merge some of the mods.

Because I really want to use a lot of mods in Morrowind I was curious if there were similar possibilities in Morrowind? I am using Wyre Mash and only found the level list merging feature :)
SO is there a program that can do this automatically? Also automatic load order?

BTW: Is pyfiing the morrowind.bsa also possible or recommended?

For load order check out http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1167004-relz-mlox-a-tool-for-anolyzing-and-sorting-your-load-order/. I'm not sure what a Bashed Patch is when it's at home but have a look at http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=utilities.detail&id=34's Merge Objects function (although don't use its Merged Dialogues function as that can break things).

I have heard of this pyfi thing but never heard of it used in Morrowind.

Check out Pluto's http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1060141-mod-recommendations-for-new-players/. It's a good compendium of information.

You might want to check out Yacoby's Wrye Mash 85 http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1180562-yacobys-wrye-mash-fork/, but I think you need this http://www.fliggerty.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=54&t=4233 package too.

If you don't want mess with Python then I suggest that you use http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1106095-wrye-mash-stand-alone/ http://www.fliggerty.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=53&p=63053#p63053 which doesn't require Python.

Use TESTool for merging objects only. _Don't_ use it for _anything_ else. Also, not all mods should have their objects merged (DNGDR for example).

Use Wrye Mash Stand Alone for http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i74Xr7s4NCI.

Also use Wrye Mash Stand Alone for repairing saves and updating masters.

Don't forget to install http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=19510.

I don't see why it would be necessary. Unless you are using the Steam version.

Lime Mr Smit said, you only need to redate .bsas back to 2002 if you're using Steam version. I've never heard of PyFFI-ing Morrowind meshes.

All your suggestions work absolutely fine: but because I have probs with morrwoind enhanced and some other mods, (I had to cut down a lot of them before realising mE was the culpret) I was wondering if there was really no merge-dialogue-possibility ?

There is a tool called http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1140559-smartmerger/ in development. Not sure how far along it is though. Looks to be a fantastic tool once it's completed. :)
