Bashed Patch causing crashes?

Just like the subject says, really. I'm new to Oblivion, though a long-time Morrowind player. When I make a batched patch and activate it, the game is unplayable--it CTDs instantly upon loading or starting a new game. Playing without the Patch works fine (well...it works, who knows what conflicts there might be in the future).

Any assistance would be appreciated. :) I couldn't find anything with a Google search. All the results were for the reverse (i.e., if your game crashes make a Bashed Patch to fix errors).

Edit: This probably should have gone in the Wrye Bash thread. Sadly there doesn't seem to be a delete post option. :(

Edit Edit: Nevermind, it seems I wasn't using Bash properly. Too used to Morrowind Merged Leveled Lists, I expect. :) I can get through character creation now--we'll see if it crashes after leaving the sewers.

You can't play Francesco's and OOO together like that. You have to choose either - or, alternatively, use FCOM.

FCOM requires MMM, right? I wasn't really interested in that one, so I didn't get it. If there's no subpatches like FOIP for FCOM, I suppose I'll have to.

Edit: After checking, there are, so that's covered.

The problem I'm having now is that most of the NPCs eyes are messed up--the left eye is filmed over and the right eye is rotated 60 degrees or so so the pupil is just barely visible at the edge. I'm not sure what causes that.

As for your eyes issues, skip the ones above as you're already using Cobl Races.

Post your load order via Wrye Bash: Right-click File header in the mod tab > List mods > Paste

Generally I'd say it's a bad idea to start out a new game with so many mods at once as it makes troubleshooting quite hard. I'd recommend starting a new game with only a patched vanilla game, checking that it works. Add OOO, check. Add core FCOM, check. Etc.

After narrowing it down, it seems Cobl is what's causing it. Deleting everything except the basic eyeX files made it go away (though a lot of eyes then were totally black pits) and reinstalling the Cobl Cosmetics pack brought it back.

(Ren's hair remains because the Cobl hairs won't load for my high elf without it for some reason).

Edit: And my thought that it was specifically excluding the game from using Ren's eyes (since it does say hair only) is dashed after I unchecked it, rebuilt the patch excluding it and the problem persists. My character's hair stayed the same, though, so that's one less mod in the load order at least.)

OOO- and MMM- Cobl showed up after I reinstalled--are they necessary with FCOM active? BOSS doesn't give any warnings about them, but I have them turned off at the moment.

After further checking, it appears to be a "Ren's eye textures on vanilla eye meshes" problem. It seems, though, that the Cobl Resources pack isn't installing the necessary meshes?

Hmm...I have a Data/Meshes/Characters/Ren/Eyes folder with files for both eyes...

Looks like it's also an issue with having installed Beautiful People previously. Time to surgically remove that. Reinstalling it using BAIN and then uninstalling it should catch all the files, correct?

Yes, that is incompatible with pretty much all other race mods.

Reinstalling it using BAIN and then uninstalling it did fix the eye problem, so that's one problem down. :)

Now...mod-switching on and off time.

Make sure you have the MMM.bsa and that it is renamed FCOM_Convergence.bsa.

Also, you're welcome. :) I'm almost certain you'll like MMM. It's an awesome mod that basically transforms Cyrodiil into a living, dynamic world.

It was kind of refreshing when the barbarians went for the Imperial guardsman wearing full armor rather than my scrawny robe-clad apprentice mage, since I don't actually have a giant sign that says "PC!" over my head. :P

For some reason, that... doesn't quite look right to me. If I'm mistaken, please somebody tell me now! :o

To elaborate, my version of that bsa file starts the same, but has some extra characters in it too. Otherwise, there would be an awful clash, with FCOM's own bsa file. Again, unless I've done something horribly wrong this time around...

Phew! :) I really wasn't sure there for a sec. Seriously not trying to be snarky or whatever. There have been quite a few changes lately, to FCOM, and MMM, what with all the BSAa and so on. Likely there'll be even more changes, now that Fran's has been opened up for repackaging, etc. So, I'm never totally sure I'm up to date with all this. Thanks for clearing it up anyway.
