Bashed Patch Questions

Post » Mon Mar 14, 2011 10:46 pm

Before now I've never needed to use Wrye Bash for anything other than making mods, but not I want to use a mod that specifically requires me to use the Bash Patch function. The mod can be found here: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=18305. My understanding is that will merge the selected mods into the Bash Patch and thus eliminate any incomatibilities. But I have a few questions.

1.) How does the program handle an instance where two mods alter the exact same record. Without Wrye Bash I can control this with the load order, but now I'm concerned about the right records getting through.

2.) Do I need to Bash all my mods or just those associated with this mod?

3.) The mod also instructs me to import cells. Is this for all my mods or just those associated with this one?

1) Merged plugins obey load order, so the later loading edit wins (in most cases.)

2) Use BOSS. It will appropriately tag 99% of mods it recognizes correctly.

3) Read these two Wrye Bash pages: http://sites.google.com/site/oblivionpoinfo/utilities/wrye-bash/bashmodstab http://sites.google.com/site/oblivionpoinfo/utilities/wrye-bash/bashedpatch <-- "safe" means check all
