Basic Overview of the GT demo

This mostly shows what I learned from the GT demo about Skyrim:

1. The UI of the game has been overhauled- The resource bars for your magicka, health and stamina are laid out at the bottom in that order from left to right, appearing only when there are changes to their respective resources or you enter combat. Unlike previous games, your resource bars don't decrease one dimensionally anymore, instead, they decrease like enemy health bars did in the Fallout series, as in they decrease symmetrically. The enemy's health is displayed in a similar fashion, but with a larger bar at the top of the screen. On top of that, update messages with your skills and general level up experience are displayed center-screen instead of in the top- left. Your compass will pop up underneath where the enemy health bar will render.

2. AI looks like it will stack up to Bethesda's claims- While watching the dragon fight, the dragon showed that it can sweep down and nom someone off the ground, and it has its own special set of execution moves, including the old-school manner dragons like: bar-be-que the other guy and nom him. The other stuff shows that your character can be challenged by enemy humanoids, their combat AI seems to be slightly upgraded and more inelegant, so you'll have to sharpen your controller-based combat skills a little more for Skyrim.

3. Third person got overhauled- You won't have a crosshair in first or third person view while carrying a melee weapon or a self/touch spell, but you do get one when wielding a bow and (I'm guessing) a ranged spell.

4. Magic has some additional features- In addition to the already known fact that you can duel wield spells and combine like spells to increase their effect, some offensive spells can be drawn out, turning the old fireball spell into a magical, hand-mounted flamethrower.

5. Executions look rather good- The two executions in the demo look very smooth and intense at the same time, so I'd personally recommend everyone to grab every single weapon in the game and get a finishing move with each one to revel in the how awesome those executions look.

All in all, Skyrim will most likely kick ass. If you have anything to add, please add it.
