2 basics gameplay questions

Hi,

1. Is the game supposed to be played without a torchlight or any light source in dark corners? Why can't I take of one these miners lamps present there and there?

2. Can I store safely in compartment like boxes and garbage bins items without them disappears after a while? I would like to store stuff and not sell them asap... And I'm already overloaded. For example there is a fridge in the common room of Megaton, seems a good place to me. ?

Hold down Tab and it will turn your pip-boy light on which helps ALOT in dark places.
And yes, I suggest doing it somewhere easy to access that is also green, so people don't catch you robbing your own stash.
You CAN **SPOILER**

disarm the bomb in megaton and you get your own place to live there. You can store stuff in there.
If you blow the bomb up, when you find tenpenny tower, you can go live there with a room.

1.The tab key turns on your pip-boy light.

2.Almost all storage in Fallout 3 is safe.

Containers in Fallout don't respawn like they do in Oblivion, so you can stash your stuff anywhere you want. As for the Tab key, make sure to hold it down for a second. It will bring up your Pipboy if you don't hold it down long enough.

thanks all, much appreciated!

another one ... is the game 'resource finite', i.e there is no respawning of resources (objects or monsters) so you can end up without stuff to sell if you screw very bad (very theoretical I know... )

The only things that respawn are the creatures/characters outside in the Wasteland. And don't worry about not having stuff to sell, the game is a monty haul. You'll eventually have more Bottlecaps than you know what to do with. Alot of players have gone to a lot of trouble to reduce the amount of wealth you can acquire.

Just a few things who are limited in the game, nuke cola quantum, skill magazines, ammo for the alien blaster and firelance, probably a limited numbers of fatman weapons to. Something is hard to get like gatling and three beam lasers who are looted from rare enemies.
Named artifact weapon and armor are natuarly unique however with a few exceptions they can be repaired with standard weapons of its type.

One big exception loot from the mothership zeta is limited. yes you get lots of it but you dont get more of it so if you use a weapon from the plugin keep the similar weapons for spare parts.

Ok I need a precision and don"t feel to restart a thread... I would like to have my 'home base' in the GNR building. To the left, there is some room quarter with green beds and green lockcases, so I can sleep and deposit stuff. As the containers are green and there are soldiers around, do I have a chance that they borrow some of my stuff or not? Because the building is kinda cool, with the Brotherhood around :)

I'm not entirely positive, but I don't believe NPCs ever go into any of the containers in the game. I've certainly never noticed them doing so at any rate, though they will loot dead bodies lying around. If you want to be sure, just leave some stuff in one of the lockers that you don't mind losing and see if it sticks around. I'm pretty sure it will be safe though.
