the bathing itself could be a quicktime event like in god of war

It's both actually:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Influenza_A_virus_subtype_H1N1

But the last outbreak originated from swine, hence the name Swine Flu.

Hold on...so, being "cleaner" should get you a bonus, but being "dirtier" shouldn't have any negative effect? What gives with that?

bathing was not always taken as seriously as it is now.

There we go ;)

It's nice to be clean, but people don't care if you're dirty.

Not to put your idea down, but I think this is the last thing that the developers are worried about.

Yes, I am aware that this is Nirn, but I have read that the VIkings were actually well groomed. They cared about their appearance, had various grooming tools, such as ear cleaners, combs, and razors, etc. They normally washed, at least their hands. before eating, and often bathed weekly. They even had steam bath/sauna setups.

About the Khajiits, all I can say is watch out for giant furballs.

Should players have to wash every now and then to keep their character clean? If you don't wash enough people's disposition might go down and it could be easier to get diseases! And in dirtier areas you could have to wash more often!

Well you know devs axing attributes from Skyrim, so there is no more personalty (charisma and beauty) http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/images/13275-3-1228805890.jpg, if like to be Altmer mage who like fresh and clean things better switch to brutal Nord Barbarian who never take bath, besides intelligence was also axed so he will not have any point of intelligence to boser with such small details :teehee:

And disease was rampant. Perfumes were highly prized because they hid their smell and brides carried bouquets as they were just starting to stink after their springtime bath.

I'm pretty sure people only bathed maybe once a year (if even) back then. It's hard to be disgusted by someone's smell when you smell the same way.

Vikings, if we want to equate Nords with them, were noted for their over-cleanliness. They bathed once a week.

And the reason bathing fell out of favor in Europe was largely due to an increase in the cost of fuel. No one wanted to take a cold bath, but they couldn't afford very many hot baths.

During the Victorian era, Christians rarely bathed because they thought that it was sinful and promiscuous to wallow naked in hot soapy water. Religion strikes again.

Speaking of which, I would really like to see more perfumes. Telvanni Bug Musk worked great. Large personality increase (prooves that NPC's appreciate when you smell good ;)).

I believe we should also have to drink, and use the bathroom based on when we eat and drink, and how often, and wash our hands before eating, or we'll get a disease, and people can break into our house and steal our posessions anytime we are not there, and we should only be able to carry what we realistically could, and standing outside on a sunny day too long will give us sunburn, and standing in the cold too long will give us a cold, possibly pneumonia, and you can also get cancer, which you can never recover from due to lack of surgical technology and knowledge, and days should pass in real time, and you have no more strength than a real human, and no magic, and Skyrim should be the size of the USA.

Agreed 100%

Adding it for realism/roleplay would be 'taking it too far' imo. But it's functional why not... There was bathing in Nehrim. It was used to cure deseases.
