A battle axe for the thoughtfull and elegant warrior?

Post » Wed Mar 20, 2013 1:30 am

I want to make a character, planning to use Nordic carved armor.
I was going to use a greatsword at first, but I noticed that the greatsword clips trough the armor. So I want to use a battle axe instead, which doesn't clip.

The thing is, my character is a very elegant warrior with a very thoughtfull but fatal personality.
I worry that a battle axe would make her look more agressive instead.

What do you think?

EDIT: She's a Nord by the way.

I would use a one handed sword. It seems more graceful to me than a big sword or an axe. An axe is used to chop which is not as graceful as the sword which is used to slice and stab. A small sword is more delicate and precise as well.

I want to keep a bit of a balance between her elegant side and her barbaric side. So I prefer to use two-handed, fits her backstory more.

Skyrim doesn't handle 2 handed weapons elegantly. The only 2 handed weapon remotely elegant is the ebony blade.

I have a strong feeling that you should consider the Glass Battleaxe.

I was thinking about the Ebony Battleaxe, or just the Nordic Battleaxe.
Ebony seems to fit Nordic Carved armor and my character her ''dark'' appearance.

I would use a more "elegant" battleaxe. Elven and Glass battleaxes could accomplish this for you.

Here is a good http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Battleaxe#Battleaxes of all the weapons but it will take to where battleaxes are on the page. You can see all the pictures to get a good idea for the look of them.

EDIT: Even the Ancient Nord and Nordic Battleaxes have some elegance to them.

If you finish the Companions quest, you can make Nord Hero weapons which look like the Ancient Nord weapons.

Steel looks best to me. I use a shield and one handed axe with my quintessential Nord hero, but I keep a steel greataxe in my inventory for dragons.

The EB will give you that "dark" feel, for sure. But the GB just seems more elegant to me.

I guess what matters most is what's more important to you & her particular RP: darkness or elegance?

Oh yeah man, no doubt. The EB is definitely the way to go for darkness & it's also my favorite battleaxe. But you want a little elegance too, right?

Well, ebony has those white lines which are decorating the axe with a bit of an elegant way. Which is why it came to my mind. Kind of ''femme fatale'' :)
Besides, my character her kind of elegance is very dark in the first place. Black hair, black eyeshadow, black lips, and a pale skin. She also likes to wear black vampire armor outside of battle, it's her ''civilized'' apparal.

Hmmm, now that I think of it.
The ebony greatsword doesn't have a hilt which clips with the armor, but I don't really like how that one looks.
