I ran into trouble at some point at the start of this quest and used the console command to reset it, now Father won't talk to me to let me start it or anything. Can't use console commands to start it either. How can I fix this?

still havent figured out how to fix this, can't find the right quest variable to enable to true so i can talk to him again either
