battle for bruma

Post » Tue Nov 16, 2010 11:06 pm

Okay so I am level 15 warrior I have umbra and her armor. I can't for the life of me keep jauffre alive in the battle for bruma. It's hard to fight multiple monsters, especially when the daedroths jump on me and chip away my health, and sometimes the soldiers go back into there positions and just stand there until monsters go near them while martin jauffre and baurus are out fighting.. I managed to get to the great gate opening part a few times but jauffre was always dead. My attributes and gear are fine.

Any suggestions?

It does not matter if he dies I beleive, unless you really care about him.

If you can not defend him leave the quest before the gates open and come back at higher level.

I know it doesn't matter but I want him to live. At higher level I believe there will be harder daedra,

Is there way I can keep him alive?

My current play-through both Jauffre and Baurus survived the entire Crisis. (At least one of them perished my first play-through.)

Make sure you enter the Main Oblivion Gate (the one needed for quest advancement) as soon as it opens. If Jauffre is still alive then there's a very good chance he will remain so (along with everyone else), since combat is suspended (or at least no further Deadric come through the portals) once you enter. Also, it helps to have done all the Allies for Bruma sub-quests so that there are more warriors available to help combat the Daedric horde.

Another thing I did was position myself close to the gates so that I could be the first to confront each Daedric wave. I'd try and hit as many emerging Daedra as possible so they would concentrate on me rather than the other warriors.

I completed the allies for bruma quest. I can't survive that many daedra all attacking me at once. I have strength and endurance maxed im doing +5/+5/+1 with the +5 attribute mod. It's probably easier at low level, the monsters I am having most trouble with is the spider daedras and daedroths.

This is what I do...but we're not in the Spoiler forum so I'll put in the spoiler function. If you've done the Knights of the Nine DLC, and I always do before the battle for Bruma because
Spoiler
then I have the Blessing of the Eight spell to shield other and Merciful Touch to heal other. They both use less magicka and by replenishing magicka with welkynd stones, it gets me through. I don't use my weapon usually....I only heal the allies and Baurus and Jauffre. I get all the allies for Bruma so there are many fighting.
My first two games I could never save Baurus but on my third game, I was able to save everyone all through the entire game. It was my best ever and I'm hoping to duplicate that in my current game. Good luck to you...it's a difficult battle. :)

Added: I missed your last post...congratulations!!

I reverse pick pocket weightless daedric armor on them. Then I use a custom shield area of effect spell. I've kept them alive once before without doing this, but it's difficult.
