Battle for the D.C. Ruins: The War Begins

Post » Wed Sep 09, 2009 11:43 pm

The sky was clear and sunny. Paladin Webster sat outside watching as several initiates that had come along with them from the West Coast, practiced with their 10mm pistols. They would need alot of work from what Paladin Webster witnessed. He stood up from his seat, and held his helmet under his arm, watching in displeasure of the initiates aiming capabilities. Frank had been through alot, and had seen alot of initiates on their first field mission get killed because they didn't have enough experience with their weapon. He looked around, the Pentagon was busling with activity. Elder Lyon's and others had just recently renamed it the Citadel. It was a catchy name sorta, Frank was glad they had taken "The Citadel" as their base of operations. It proved a good place that was close enough to the D.C. Ruins, and far enough from any Super Mutant onslaught that may occur.

"Initiate Jameson, get your damn pistol holstered. Your off the shooting range, let me show you how to shoot a gun properly." Frank said grabbing his laser pistol from his belt. "Now you need to have a stiff wrist, or your just going to have the bullet go wizzing out of there, and hit something else besides your target. Now watch!"

The initiate stood beside Paladin Webster, watching as he took his aim. It was quick and smooth, the recreated Super Mutant dummy was hit square in the chest, causing it to wobble back and forth. The crack of the laser pistol went once more, hitting the dummy again.

"Now that is how you kill your target. Understand?" Frank said in a tough tone of voice.

"Yes Paladin Webster, stiff wrist. Thank you Paladin Webster." The initiate replied taking his pistol from out of its holster, and stepping back into the little firing area.

As Frank went to take his seat, a scribe walked over in a casual step. His red robe shimmered in the sun light, its pieces of technology also gave it a shimmer. Frank stood at attention, and saluted the Scribe as he approached. The scribe stood and stopped infront of Frank, handing him a letter.

"What's this?" Frank asked curious to the Scribe.

"Your new squad, all their names are there. They have also been given a letter from the others scribes. I will have them all assembled here soon. Gooday Paladin Webster, and steel be with you."

"Steel be with you!" Frank said looking back at the paper and unraveling it. The paper showed all the names of Knights that would be joining him in his new squad. Frank had been out there in the D.C. Ruins once before, and had seen alot of terrible things. Super Mutants dragging settlers off to god knows where, or either killing and eating them right then and there. D.C. was like the Wild West of the east coast, it would take alot of time to get a handle on it. Suddenly over the intercom, the Scribes voice crackled through.

"This is Scribe Hark, would all Knights and Initiates that are assigned to Paladin Websters new squad please report to the main gate outside. Paladin Webster will be awaiting your arrival. Steel be with us all." The scribes voice disapeared, and the intercom flicked off. Frank walked over to the main red gate that was situated between the Citadel and harsh Capital Wasteland. His first mission with a new squad.

"This should be interesting?" Frank thought to himself as he stood waiting.

OOC: Just to make it clear, all posts should be what your character is doing before they recieve a letter from the Scribes, and take it from there until the meeting at the Red gate.

Kyle was still in awe of the place, the citadel that is, as he exited into the fortresses massive courtyard. Even though he had been in this hellhole for about a year, the Citadel never failed to amaze him. He walked up to the firing range, filled to the brim with initiates aiming at scarecrow esque Mutant dummies, and pulled his ancient Mosin-Nagant rifle form his equipment bag. He zeroed the gun in and checked his M-16 as well. After he had fired off a few bursts the Citadel's speaker system crackled.....

"This is Scribe Hark, would all Knights and Initiates that are assigned to Paladin Websters new squad please report to the main gate outside. Paladin Webster will be awaiting your arrival. Steel be with us all"

Kyle had received a letter from a scribe early in the day, and loaded his equipment back into his bag and walked to the massive entrance. He was nervous, he had a suspicion he would be heading to the City for the first time and raiders were nothing to compared to the "Frankesteins"....

A rhythmic *POP* could be heard as Layne continued to fire rounds from his favorite sidearm, a .45 caliber Heckler and Koch USP handgun he'd retrieved from scavenging the National Guard Armory. Out of the corner of his eye he spotted Paladin Webster giving pointers to other initiates like himself. Layne would mimic the experienced officers movements exactly, finding it more effective then his own firing style.

Satisfied with the amount of target practice he'd gotten that day, he'd return back to the barracks and retrieve his customized M16A4. It had been weeks since he last cleaned his weapons, a often fatal mistake to one who goes into combat on a regular basis. He'd remove the stock and the frame, wiping down each intricate part of the rifle before applying a substitute for gun oil, made up of vegetable oil and centaur secretions.

A letter Layne had recieved a few weeks prior had informed him that he had passed the initial test to go on active duty in Paladin Webster's squad was lying on the desk, he had read it several times to get him psyched.

Before he had the chance to do the same to his sidearm, the loud speakers would come alive with the voice of Scribe Hark, directing applicants for Paladin Webster's new squad report to the main gate A.S.A.P. Layne would sigh before dawning his ancient refurbished armor, then heading in the direction in a slow manner. He'd heard Webster had a reputation for high expectations, and that certainly put a degree of pressure on those wanting to join him in battle.

Ever since the arrival in the Pentagon ruins years earlier, Ketrian had been hunting. Hunting for books, hunting for holotapes, hunting for information. While certainly a good amount of this scavenging was basic protocol with their mission of technology and information retrieval, some of it had a more... personal edge for the now-Knight. "Maybe I should've been a Scribe..." she muses aloud as she sits in the barracks, cigarette between her lips. Smoke curls lazily from the glowing end as she studies her holotape reader, reading a scavenged AAR from the time before the war... A battle near the Pipeline, US forces pushed back by invading Chinese... But it was simply a small piece of a story that Charlette knew she may never know the whole of. She had many interactions with Scribe Jameson about these reports, and piecing together bits of the War long-past from the knowledge they were gathering.

So many stories untold... As the door near her bunk suddenly opened, the Knight quirked a brow in curiosity as Scribe Tomlin entered, carrying with him a small, folded piece of paper. "New orders?" was all she asked as she was offered the paper, to which Tomlin only nodded. "Haven't read it myself," the Scribe started, "But word is they're forming another expedition squad. Good luck with that; we've been getting some pretty nasty reports from the Knights out there already."

Snuffing her cigarette, Ketrian only nods as she looks over the letter, folding it back up and tucking it into the briast pocket of her jacket. "I'd better get ready. Thanks for the delivery." she offers to the Scribe, reaching back to her holotape reader on the bed. "Hey, Scribe Tomlin, can you get this back to Jameson for me? If I'm being sent out, I don't think she'd like me taking it with." she explains, pulling out the holotape and handing it to the man.

"Sure, no problem." Tomlin replies, before offering a smile and a salute. "Steel be with you, Knight Ketrian."

Ketrian only offers a smirk back, though the salute is returned. "Steel be with you."

The next few hours had been spent preparing; equipment assembled, weapons cleaned, checked, tested. A visit down to the Armoury to get her requisitioned ammunition, a visit to the Smithy to get the OK on her armour, the suiting up... She had just finished putting on the bulky armour when the intercoms crackled to life, Hark's voice passing down the orders from above. "Time to leave..." she murmurs softly in her helmet, heard only to herself with the speaker left off. Picking up her AKM and slinging it across her chest, she takes one final look at the barracks before leaving them, heading to the gate...

Chase had been busy writing a letter to his brother when he received the notification about joining Paladin Webster's squad. He leaned back in his chair and raised an eyebrow at the name. Webster... Webster... I think I recognize the name. Must be one of the Brothers from the West Coast. Good. I wouldn't want to be serving under some barbarian local. I can't believe any of them ever reach Knight status, much less Paladin. Lyons isn't strict enough. He's losing sight of the objective with all these locals filling our ranks, just to go out and die like fodder for the muties.

He finished his letter, including a small bit about his reassignment and his concerns about the current leadership when he heard Scribe Hark over the speakers. He scowled, but donned his armor and got his equipment ready regardless. On his way out to the main gate, he handed off his letter to one of the scribes, slightly doubtful that the letter would even leave D.C. Mail wasn't exactly a priority out here, and Chase had the feeling that his brother wasn't going to be the only person to have read the letter if it was ever even delivered.

Truthfully, Chase didn't even want to be out here, but he didn't have much of a choice. Now, he was going out into D.C. to fight the muties, where things would most likely be even less to his liking. It was moments like these, where he was thinking about the direction his life was taking, that made him wonder if he would have been better off as a scribe. Certainly his family wouldn't have complained. He wondered briefly if he would ever even go back to California, or if he was stuck out here for the rest of his life.

He fiddled with his laser rifle as he exited out to the bailey, observing the initiates, locals, almost all of them, training. It was pathetic, in his opinion. Most of them couldn't even aim straight. The second a mutie got it's hands on one of them, they would be ripped apart. Or worse, dragged off to god knows where. That was one mystery that Chase did want to figure out. Just where did they come from, and how did they keep coming? They had to be using some sort of special tech to create them, and it might prove quite valuable to the Brotherhood in the future. It was unlikely that they would ever make it that far into mutie territory though.

Chase walked across the field, keeping watch on those around him, wondering just who his teammates would be. He was hoping there wouldn't be any locals, but that seemed unlikely. His only hope was that Paladin Webster would be strict enough to keep them alive and keep them from killing themselves. Or worse, from killing Chase or another real soldier. He had heard rumors of friendly fire among the locals. A real hostile bunch, some of them were.

Richard was inside the Citadel just cleaning his weapons when he heard an announcement over the intercom from Scribe Hark telling everyone who had gotten a letter assigning them to Paladin Webster's squad to meet him at the main gate. Richard ha gotten his letter a few weeks ago but viewed it with exictement and some trepidation. He was happy about being accepted to Paladin Webster's squad, but the D.C. Ruins were not a place that anyone liked to visit due to the 9'0" tall Super Mutants. Richard thought, "Though fighting the Super Mutants isn't my idea of fun, it's still good combat experience and I'll be with some of the best the Brotherhood has to offer."

He then got up after gathering all his weapons and headed to the Main Gate to meet with his commanding officer, Paladin Webster. On the way there Richard saw Elder Lyons and Protector Casdin talking about something, the content he didn't know about because he was too far away, but judging by the looks on their faces, it probably wasn't pleasant. Upon finding Paladin Webster at the main gate he said to him, "Knight Richard Caleb reporting for duty, sir.", before waiting for his response.

Frank looked at all the soldiers that had assembled at the front gate. He was impressed at the number, though it felt small in number at the sametime. That was good though, easy to keep track of people, and not so many would get shot up in the fighting all over the D.C. Ruins. He examined them, looking at them even though he couldn't see their faces. He could tell they would do good. But he did worry about the initiate that was assigned to him. Most were uneducated about surviving in the D.C. Ruins, and most were the first one's killed in a skirmish.

"I am Paladin Webster, and I am your new squad leader. Our orders are to go deep into the D.C. Ruins, and collect as much information and detail of the area as we can. Now some of you haven't been out in the D.C. Ruins, most or all of you have had little experience out there, so I want you all to stay close to me. I want you to stay so close to me, its as if you were a baby, nursing at your mothers tit. I will have no prejudice against those who have joined the Brotherhood from the wasteland. I know some of you may have a hard time working with them, but they are like you and me, and in this unit we all must work as a unit to survive. So watch one anothers backs, and you'll do just fine." Frank took a breath, looking at all of them. They were well trained at standing at attention. A good quality to have infront of Frank.

"We'll first make our way to the Mall, and make camp in the trenches. From then on, we'll get new orders from the Citadel, and take it from there. Do you all understand?" The group simultaniously responded with a great cheer.

"YES PALADIN WEBSTER!" They replied. Frank knodded, and looked up at the gate keeper.

"Go ahead!" He said giving the signal to raise the gate. A loud creaking, almost like being on a ship, down in the very bottom of it, while in rough waters. It was drowned out a bit by his helmet, but still it gave a small ear splitting noise. "Alright soldiers, lets move out." Frank started forward towards the D.C. Ruins. The squad's baptism of fire was about to begin.

Ryan was speaking with an initiate about how important a heavy support gunner was, "When I'm fighting with a squad, I am considered a tank, I do the heavy lifting and I make sure everything keeps it's head down as the rest of my team takes them out," He was trying to ignite some spirit into this godforsaken excuse of a slodier, who Ryan found out later that he was killed in a mission by a stray feral, he knew it was no use, no one understood Ryan's methods but he was definetly a forced to be reckoned with in battle. During the fight into the city Ryan had seen a lot, and chewed through so much ammo it was crazy, Ryan heard him being summoned over the intercom, "Hail brother," he said to the soldier as he walked away, Ryan walked towards the gate with gun in one hand and his helmet in the other. Ryan walked over to Webster, a paladin who had fought alongside Ryan for the duration of the battle, "Well, well, your leading this bucket of crap into the sea of crap aren't you? Lets hope you don't kill us all!"

Regardless of the fact that they were assigned to the same unit, Layne could tell he was the odd man out. He couldn't really tell how old his squad mates were due to a lot of them wearing helmets, but he had to be the youngest of the bunch. It wasn't by accident that a mere initiate had been assigned to a squad of veterans, Layne had been trained and taught from birth the basics of battle, strategy and so forth.

His father was a Regulator, which basically meant he was part of a ragtag militia patrolling the wastes and bringing justice to it's darkest corners. He'd been in countless battles, and the experience he'd gained from them was passed on to his only son, whether he liked it or not. However, due to his lack of experience in the D.C. area of the Wastelands, Layne was constantly forced to prove himself until given the opportunity to put those concerns and suspicions to rest.

He was afraid, there was no getting around that. But at the same time he was excited at the chance of earning the respect of his peers, and entering Knighthood. He would force the butterflies in his stomach to remain still as the massive gates opened and the dull light of the wastes reflected off his armor.

Frank continued on, the squad following close to him like he had told them to do. The D.C. Ruins were large and vast, they would have to trek through alot of rubble and bodies to get their mission done. But frank guessed that if they followed his orders, they would survive best they could. And that's all Frank asked, was that they survive another day. He was surprised by Ryan, their new heavy support gunner.

"Ryan, its good to see your here. I saw your name on the roster. What did you do this time to get stuck in with me?" Frank continued on, and smiled under his helmet at Ryan's remark. "Don't worry Ryan, if I get us killed, its only because your damn gun jammed, and we get over run?"

The group's whole tone seemed to drop when they heard the sarcastic remark. It made it sort of real for them, they could die if something like their gun jammed. Frank brushed it off, and smiled under his helmet.

"But since we're going to the Mall, we'll be fine."

Ryan slipped on his helmet, "Yea sure! What can go wrong in the Mall? It's heaven on earth down there!" Ryan was making his jokes again, and he was amused, "Don't worry, my gun doesn't jam, you guys will be fine, and I have about 5,000 rounds to, I am you guardian angel haha." Ryan was tripping and struggling through the rubble, his heavy gun and armor didn't help Well at least i won't die right? "So where are these uglies? Ryan looked at the squad, is this all we have? Any back up available? Or will there be more in the trenches?"

Kyle went out the massive doors with the rest of the group. His stomach was in knots, it had been too long since he had been in the city. He quickly ran over his thoughts about the Knights he was about to fight with. The leader seemed like he had his head on right and would keep the group alive. the group's gunner seemed like your standard gunner, strong and more than a little crazy. He noticed the woman as well, he had talked to her once or twice but never very long. After he lost his girlfriend and son in the building, he had trouble even looking at women, always seeing his family. He noticed the initiate was very nervous and hoped he wouldn't lose it in his first fight, like the last initiate he fought with....

He stopped the thought before he could really think about, he didn't want the thoughts of his last mission in the city fresh in his mind. He unslung his M-16 and moved near the front of the group, hoping his limp wasn't to noticeable, on it's way to the mall. The sky was sunny, a bleak contrast to the destruction all around them, as the group walked past relics of the old world....

Frank looked around the ruins as the approached the outskirts of the D.C. Ruins. The sky was blue and had large cotton like clouds, but all around was death and bleak hardship, it was not the ideal place to live, but it was what they all had to live with each and everyday. He looked at Ryan as he spoke.

"You know the rules Ryan. No back up besides ourselfs, we stay out here until our mission is completed, and we won't be hanging around in the Trenches. We'll have a stop there, but only until we get our mission objective." Frank moved on, a huge slab of rubble and building stood in there way. "How the hell are we going through that?" Frank muttered to himself. He looked around and spotted a quick way through, a metro station.

"Ok men, into the metro station. We won't be getting through that slab anytime soon. Maybe we'll get to shoot some ghouls while we're down there-" Frank looked at the group, and spotted the new initiate. "You, initiate. Come over here." The man walked over, his steps seemed to be a bit nervous. Frank looked at the others, and back at the initiate.

"What is your name?"

"Initiate Layne!" He responded in a formal manner.

"Stay close to me while we're down here. I don't want you getting torn apart so soon." Frank said with a sarcastic yet caring tone. "Ok lets move!"

The squad knodded, and moved down into the metro station, it creaked and moaned. Just like old times.

Layne, having picked up that the rest of the squad sensed he was losing his composure would quickly brush aside thoughts of dying on his first mission. He'd do as his CO ordered and stick close, but he certainly wouldn't be the one needing protection in the subway. He'd make it a point to try and rack up the most kills down there, knowing he needed to redeem himself now more then ever.

Ryan was annoyed, there wasn't really anything big enough for him to shoot at with his minigun, so he pulled out his sidearm, he felt naked with it, even more so while inside the dark and bleak metro tunnels, they gave him the creeps, "Lets get trough here as quick as possible, I want to shoot some crap, muties are a much beter target don't you think?" Ryan still had time to make jokes, he always had time, he went up behind the initiate and grabed him, "OMG Watch out!! Hahahaha," Ryan was a crazy MF.

Kyle let a laugh crackle out of his helemt as the gunner spooked Layne, taking his mind off the tightness of the damp, dark tunnel. You could here the moans of Ghouls from deeper inside the Labyrinth of the metro as heavy steel landed on concrete. They were creepy things, and fast enough to tear a good chunk out of you before you knew what happened even at this range. The ghouls didn't bother him as much anymore, he had fought them plenty of times. He raised his M-16 at the shadows, hoping he could get a jump on anything that tried to attack the group.....

Chase walked along with the group, his laser rifle balanced on his shoulder. He stayed back for the most part, watching his teammates move, the initiate in particular. Just another boy that would need to be babied, it seemed. He moved up next to Frank as they neared the Metro Station.

"I heard there was a group of locals that came around this area earlier. Raiders, I'd bet. One of them took a pot-shot at one of our sentries in the towers with some rickety rifle. I'd be willing to bet money the muties tore em apart, since they were headed towards D.C. I mean, one of them only had a baseball bat. A baseball bat! I'd like to see someone try to kill a mutie with one of those."

He moved down the steps into the Metro Station and paused for a second, pulling the gate open with one, gauntleted hand. He moved inside, then turned his helmet mounted flashlight on. He held his laser file ready, just in case.

"You know, I never could understand why the locals are so afraid of those ghoul things. I mean, I guess if you were into the whole zombie thing, but they drop like a bag of hammers at the slightest wound. I bet even that group of locals wouldn't have had any trouble getting through here."

Chase turned to look at the gunner as he spooked the poor initiate. He shook his head, but moved forward, raising his laser rifle as he slowly advanced with the group.

"Okay, so maybe the whole moaning thing is a little creepy..."

OOC: ((Holy crap my character is getting pwnt rofl. And why the OMG? lolz))

Layne would tense up instantly after being grabbed from behind, swinging his M-16A4 around and aiming it directly at Ryan's head, stopping himself before he put a round right through his visor. "Jesus man, are you insane?!", he'd whisper still not wanting to alert the entire ghoul nation to his presence.

Layne would stay the front of the group with Paladin Webster, covering every nook and crannie of the poorly lit subway tunnel, anticipating a large amount of ghouls to spring up at any time. He'd hoped to be the first one to spot an enemy, as the first kill was often the most regarded.

Frank raised his Laser Rifle from his back, and readied himself incase of an attack. He looked around, checking the corners incase a lone Ghoul or Raider was to jump out and attack. He was a little uneasy about it, but it was the quickest way through.

"Safety's off everyone. Keep on your toe's. You never know what might be down here, its like the Wild West down here sometimes. You never know what your going to get?" Frank said checking a corner. It was dark down there, but some of the lights flickered, giving an eerie atmosphere to the whole place.

They continued down the tunnel, everyone was on hightened alert. Moan's of distant ghouls could be heard, but they were fairly far off. Frank suddenly heard someting, it sounded like a door opening suddenly ahead of them. Frank raised his rifle higher, pressing it against his shoulder as they continued on. The mood was tense, almost so tense it was like thick fog.

"Stay sharp." Frank said in a whisper. Everyone followed close, this was no time to be spread apart. Suddenly frank spotted from the corner of his eye, a feral ghoul. It was feeding on a dead raider that was dumb enough to travel down here. Frank haulted the group with a fist held in the air. They all stopped suddenly. Frank looked around, checking the rest of the metro station train stop.

"Oh my god!" Frank said in an alarmed whisper. There were ghouls everywhere. Luckly there were none of those Glowing One's, but there was still a large horde of them walking around or feasting on dead raiders. "Everyone pick a target, and don't let up until I give the order. Frank charged forward, Initiate Layne following close behind him. All the others quickly followed as well.

"FOR THE BROTHERHOOD!!" Frank yelled as he fired his laser rifle at an unsuspecting ghoul. The ghouls head erupted in brain and skull matter as it turned around to see the oncoming threat. "Initate stay close, don't hesitate. Kill all that attack!" Frank said firing at another ghoul.

OOC: That was real stealthy man. :)

Kyle was glad the party had started, it had nearly been too quiet. he picked the Ghouls farthest from the group, and began to fire at them. It was pretty dark, so some of the bursts missed their marks but most had reached their target, the rotting radiated flesh of the mindless zombies. The whole group opened fire around him and ghouls began to fall as he switched to shoot at the ghouls running down the stairs, his weapon running hot. As he ducked down to reload, a ghoul slashed through his armor below his left shoulder, sending him hard to the ground and landing on his bad leg. Unable to reach his M-16 he sent a 7.52 Sniper round through the ghouls head, sending its matter all over his armor. Kyle attempted to fire at the flood of rotten flesh from his position on the floor, as he felt a little blood settle in his armor......

Hearing the squad leaders command, Layne would react purely on instinct, firing off a clip into a cluster of 3 feral's, each bullet finding their mark in their mangled torso's. He'd quickly crouch down and remove a grenade from his pack, flicking off the pin with his thumb and tossing it over a overturned subway car, killing another cluster.

Caught up in the slaughtering of the wretched zombies, the initiate wouldn't notice a Roamer sneaking up behind him. After the zombies initial strike landed on his back, he'd instinctively fall while shifting his weight, dropping his primary weapon in the process. He'd quickly remove his sidearm from it's holster and fire a single parabellum round into it's cranium, spraying infected brain matter all over the place.

Covered in blood and brain matter, Layne would regroup with the squad, firing in controlled bursts and taking out more and more of the freaks as they progressed.

Richard had stayed quiet during the trip to the metro station as he really didn't have much to say, though Ryan and Frank's jokes had given him a smile under his helmet. When they entered the metro, Richard pulled out his Combat Shotgun because he knew that they'd most likely run into Feral Ghouls while down there. Richard had been inside the metro system before, and he had never liked the claustrophobic feeling they gave him. He looked at his team, but except for the Initiate, their helmets disguised their true emotions, though Ryan seemed to take their situation in stride as he talked about shooting mutants and suprised the initiate. Richard thought of Ryan as rather gung-ho and was glad to have him, but he feared that he may have been a little insane.

At that moment Richard was brought out of his thoughts by his leader telling them to stay back, and the sound of Feral Ghouls attacking himself and his squad. He started shooting the Ghouls closest to him with his shotgun, before picking off the ones further away with his Laser Rifle. One Feral Ghoul that he didn't see knocked him to the ground, but Richard killed it with his 10 mm and then killed one that got behind him by crushing its skull with his Super Sledge.

OOC: Ok Peter, I'll make sure your character doesn't die. :)

IC

Frank roared around, spotting a ghoul charge from behind, letting out a cry of anger. The laser rifle kicked a bit in his shoulder as the first round hit it mid-torso, but hardly stopped it. Frank fired off several more rounds, hitting the feral once again in the chest, knocking it to the ground lifeless. He watched at Initiate Layne threw a couple of grenades into groups of oncoming ghouls.

"Keep it up kid, this is nothing compared to what's above!" Frank said turning to a ghoul, but was suddenly tackled by a ghoul he had not seen. He fell to the ground, wresting with the ghoul, and grunting as its ugly face was in his, snaping at his visor. "Ugly [censored]!" Frank yelled unholstering his laser pistol, and raising the ferals head a bit. Frank pressed the pistol between his visor and the ghouls chin, and unloaded three rounds into the monsters head.

He pushed the lifeless feral off, and quickly hurried to his feet, making sure that Initiate Layne was O.K. and wasn't hurt or overwhelmed. He hurried back over to him, and gave him some cover. Suddenly more and more moan's and some growls echoed through the tunnel system.

"[censored]!" Frank said seeing some quickly rushing feral ghoul and dogs shadows coming towards them. "Hurry and get to the top of the escalators. We don't want to get torn up right?" Frank said with sarcasm. He fired several more rounds at some ghouls, and watched as the others hurried up steps. He grabbed the Initiate from behind, and jerked him backwards with him.

"Lets go Initiate, this isn't what we want!"

The squad hurried, Kyle was giving cover along with Ryan as Frank and Layne scurried up the steps.

"Hurry, the exits, hurry to the exits!" Frank rushed the squad as they hurried towards the metro exit doors. Frank assisted with the firing cover as the squad moved out of the metro station.
