Battle Grounds (PvP)

I really enjoyed BGs in World of Warcraft, it's pretty much all I did. I am curious about your ideas for repeatable Battle Grounds in Fallout Online. What are some scenarios for 10 player vs 10 player, 20 vs 20, 40 vs 40 etc...that could fit Fallout canon and also take into account FOOL having multiple factions as opposed to WoW having only 2 factions? For those that are familiar with WoW BGs like Warsong Gulch and Arathi Basin (the ones I like) how do they compare with other mmo BGs if they have them? If you have played BGs (any mmo) what are things you liked/disliked? What environments would you like to battle in (inside/outside/buildings/nature)?

What I liked:
Killing
Killing
Achievements for killing
Emoting to my kills
Having various stats on my kills
Titles for killing, so the random people I PUG with will know I enjoy killing...a lot.
Easy queuing system
Capping flags
Working as a team to defend/attack a Flag/Node
Team strategy
Also in WoW having raids against faction towns, defending your own town from opposing faction raids

And while I really enjoyed playing team vs team in WoW, I also really enjoyed the game Gunman, with like 20 people all against each other and the person with the most kills in like 20 minutes wins.

Things I hated:
Players joining BGs but not playing at all, just being present in the BG for XP points (AFK'ing)
All the macros needed, and having spell/shot rotations.
All the info about each class you had to know, because you had to attack/defend differently against each class because of all their damn special abilities.
Any cost to repair my gear or replenish ammo
Being killed lol

I'd appreciate your thoughts Fallout World. Call me anything you want, just don't call me late to beta!

Most groups in the fallout universe would never be able to round up more than 15 fighters at a time. That would be nearly an entire normal raider branch, a squadron of NCR a dispatch of enclave.. The factions don't matter because they wouldn't be individual group in a battleground.

Anyway, I'm thinking PvP should be between 3-15 players vs 3-15 players. Due to a smaller size we should just call them arenas and you only get one life. Chris once posted that this isn't a magic world where a wand or angel will save you. It's Fallout and they'll handle player defeat in a different way. So these (lets call them arenas) can fall down to a 1 v 1 if enough people lost on both sides. Random searching for groups should be classified for every X levels. level 8-16, 17-25...

As for raids I think they'll be there, but not in volcanos, underwater or in the sky. Free world, not instanced, raids could be cool if they were there once a month and every level player could sign up and fight other players. Step 1: Side with ____. Step 2: Fight over ____ for hours. Step 3: Fight over ____ for same amount of time. Step 4: Same thing.. Step 5: Winning team attacks losing teams base for half hour killing PCs and NPCs alike. Step 6: Victory!.. or death..

Edit: Raiding like I talked about is just a suggestion or form that could be used by developers. I'm not saying its instanced and therefore a new script should be written for high profile locations every month/6months/year.. I don't care really just include them into new patches or something.
Player armor damage: yes Well I guess we're just a couple of problem solvers

The last thing we want is WoW BG's. You lose nothing for running into fights over and over again and dieing.

I like the idea of small skirmishes, you die you are out. The instant queues from all over the world I do not like. It should be from towns or or certain areas where you go in from. The would create PvP in the outside world as well if you had to be in certain areas.

There would have to be rewards for winning these otherwise people wouldn't go to them.

I'd much rather have PvP occur mostly in the actual world than in these small instanced fights, but that's just me.

well settlements and towns could have arenas with bloodbowl (only premade groups can join) and amateur night where everyone solo joins. Let the prize be some money, title and some junk. and lif possible have others bet on the results.

That would fit in the setting of Fallout universe? perhaps.

Sure open world pvp is fun but scenarios/BG are fun too.
