I hate how they never talk to the aliens. I like battles/action, but with aliens the first thing I would do is learn everything I could about them, not shoot everything at them.

Seems like just another "oh aliens, kill them" movie to me. I haven't seen it, but what's the story? It doesn't look like it has a storyline whatsoever. Room for a sequel?

I saw it last night and thoroughly enjoyed it. It's pretty light on story (which I think is good in this case, the viewer only knows as much as the Marines that the film follows) and is a solid action movie. If you go in expecting explosions and gunfights, you will enjoy it. Don't bother if you expect a timeless classic with a deep story and complex characters.

In Battle LA the humans really don't have a choice in the matter. The Aliens come in guns blazing.

Soldier 1: "Look! Aliens! I've never seen anything like them!"
Soldier 2: "They look so majestic, I bet they have tech you can only dream of."
Soldier 1: "yeah....LETS FIRE THE BIGGEST BAZOOKA WE HAVE IN THEIR GENERAL DIRECTION!"

But from what I can tell from the trailer the aliens started shooting people and blowing up buildings as soon as they landed not giving much of a chance for the humans to sit down with the aliens and politely interview them about life on their planet.

Saw it Friday matinee time... Pretty good action.
Aliens in the movie come in to take resources. My eyes felt pretty bad after watching it.

Seems like it would make a really good miniseries.

Saw the game on steam for 9.99. Also the [censored] Syfy version was on tv yesterday.

I hate how Syfy always makes a [censored] version of movies.

Anyways I'll watch it sometime soon. Always love a good Humans vs. Aliens/Impossible odds movie. :toughninja:

I liked it, didn't need all the character problems though. It felt like they were trying too hard to make me care about the characters when I didn't even know their names.

And that my friend, is a sign of terrible writing. I probably wont be seeing this. I'm not really one for movies that have absolutely no story and atrocious writing, but big epic b@ttles with lzrs and aleans. (Sup Transformers)

Saw the previews, but didn't really follow it much. Looked like another warmed-over plot of Independence Day, or War of the Worlds.

Lemme guess... Another Asylum massacre of the visual senses?

I've only seen the previews but it looks decent to me. I might see it next weekend. The one thing I don't understand is what resource does LA have in abundance that the aliens are after? LA has never seen like a very resource-dense region to me

Yup.

Resource the aliens are after is water.
Movie focuses on a squad of marines... Which is much better than a family with an invincible son or some sort of famous somethings in a loft apartmemt.

Let me guess... aliens invade America, soldiers 'kick their butts' in glorious shakycam served with a large portion of cheese and a side-helping of cliche sauce.

How can you guys judge a movie before you've even seen it?

I watched 'The making of' last night it looked really interesting, I'll definitely be seeing this movie along with 'Rango' and 'Transformers: dark side of the moon'

Well, given how the movie started, sitting down and having a cup of tea with the aliens really wasn't an option.

Seems like just another "oh aliens, kill them" movie to me. I haven't seen it, but what's the story? It doesn't look like it has a storyline whatsoever. Room for a sequel?

There actually is room for a sequel. You will know what I mean at the end. But, it is just another "LOL MARINES KICK ASS LOLOLOL DIE ALIENS LOL" type movie. Its what I expected it to be, and I thought it was great for what it was.

Movie was great. Saw it Sunday.

Cliche Marines Vs. Aliens story. but for what it was, it was phenomenal. I wouldn't recommend it if you pay attention to the story all that much though.

Is it anything like what District 9 was?

That is, a really amazing movie when you saw it in the theater but can't sit through it on TV type of deal?

Because, that's how District 9 was for me. I really enjoyed it in the theater. But can't watch it on TV, I find it completely hokey.

I just saw this movie over the weekend and freakin loved it! Total guy flick with explosions, aliens, guns, and patriotism. This should be a freakin recruitment movie for the Marines!

I felt the same way. It seemed like every sentence was a pep talk.

I liked the action but didn't like the story.

Explosions and aliens? Yay!

It has been too long since the last mindless action film I've seen in the cinema, I'll definitely go catch this one when it comes to town. Who cares about plot in an alien invasion story anyway.
