Battle of the Ages

Post » Wed May 02, 2012 4:59 pm

Who would survive in a free for all, in this hypothetical and highly unlikely matchup?:

100 Ansei lead by all the Sword Saints and Cyrus

100 Ordinators lead by the Tribunal (Pre-apotheosis), Nerevar, and Alandro Sul

100 Dwemer lead by Numidium

100 Imperial Knights lead by Tiber Septim, Zurin Arctus, Reman Cyrodill, Pelinal Whitestrake and Morihaus

100 Tongues lead by Ysgramor, Wulfharth, Shalidor and the three heroes who defeated Alduin

100 Psijiics lead by Divayth Fyr, Galerion, Mannimarco, Syrabane and Phynaster

100 Dremora Valkynaz lead by Mehrunes Dagon

I myself can not comprehend such a battle, let alone try to figure out a victor.

Numidium is strong enough on its own to beat all the rest (since this is pre-apotheosis Tribunal we're talking about). The Numidium defeats the Time God by it's very presence, and is probably the most powerful single entity in the Elder scrolls. Right away we can dismiss all the non-divine entrants, leaving only Team Psijiic, Team Dremora, team Tongue, and team Knight. Team Psijiic only has satellite-rank gods, not full blown planetary gods, so it's out. Team Dremora is lead by Mehrunes, who gets his ass handed to him all the time. The Tongues and the Knights have the same god, but the Knights have 2 2/3's Lorkhan, to the Tongues 1. Even with 2 2/3 Lorkhan, I think the Numidium still wins, because Lorkhan resorted to trickery to defeat the Time Dragon, whereas Numidium just does it accidentally through raw strength. Now, just because Lorkhan resorted to trickery doesn't mean he had to resort to trickery, but I still think that's the most likely option.

Cyrus stops at nothing. I think that point's been had. He just flips his opponents' godliness against them. I vote him.

On that fireside chat about the sword meetings, I wondered if Vivec and Tiber weren't actually wearing him. Like his enemies can fall in love with him and want him to win (them). Like Tiber wore Tobias' face, and Vivec commenting they had so much in common and he loves thieves.

Numidium is powered by Lorkhan though. So it used Shor's raw strength to beat time. I would honestly have to say Mehrunes Dagon. He's a smaller subgradient (even if he's Magnus) than Shor, but he's the biggest stompiest thing there. And the Valkyn are always underestimated.

Yes, that's it! Cyrus isn't so much a fiction for the reader to step into, as he is a (non?)fiction for the people to see Tamriel more like we do. He's both, but I like the second more. It's in Universe-ish.

Big N is turned on by the captured heart of Lorkhan (or soul of his incarnation), but he's also coated in the dwemer, and built from god only knows what. Stompy McStomperson Sr. is a Megazord of a whole lot of things, and probably greater than the sum of his parts, though it's never actually faced Lorkhan in a fight, so I can't say for sure if I'm right about it being more powerful.

Dagon got his but kicked on his own turf by the hero of Battlespire, so I have a hard time taking him seriously as a threat.

Yeah. I don't take Battlespire too seriously though. There are very few things that haven't changed since then. If Dagon is weaker than a mortal, even in Oblivion... well then I guess he just aint Magnus.

It seems there is no end to the lore you will pick and choose from as what to accept. That's fine and all, but don't expect your take on the lore to hold any merit to anyone else.

Wasn't the Sword of Moon Reaver made from Dagon's own essence? Probably why it one hit killed him.

Here let me say it this way, so I might stop your snobbiness before it gets out of hand. He was banished. He wasnt really beaten in combat, but he was banished by the character of Battlespire. Defeated, yes. But you cant take that battle to be an accurate example of his power. The main character used his nymic right?

And I don't like your attitude, in case you didn't notice. Never have.

Yeah, it was. But the only reason the weapon was able to banish Dagon was because the hero of Battlespire used Dagon's protonymic and neonymic to force Dagon's energy to drain back into the waters of oblivion. the sword just allowed the battlespire hero to sever what little of a connection Dagon was maintaining to the area.

Isn't it obvious? A single, anonymous hero of unknown race and gender will escape from some form of imprisonment and defeat them all. ;)

My snobbiness? The fact remains that a mortal banished Dagon, and the other contenders are filled with extremely competent mortals, and yet you would rather write off the entire plot of an official Elder Scrolls title than admit that maybe the logic behind your guess about this hypothetical situation might have a hole in it.

Ok, let me ask the OP.

Hey SithisLorkhan do nymics count in this?

Yes. But you'll have to remember that they have to be researched and stuff. You can't just instantly know one.

The Numidium could win the fight on its own, but the additional 100 Dwemer would be welcome cannon fodder in the fight.

Dagon would lose then. Some of the people like Nerevar, Shalidor and Galerion would know the nymic before hand. The Valkyn wouldnt stand a chance against Numidium at that point.

Mehrunes is way bigger, but he's not made of metal. He might be able to rip some of the vital components out and sever the connection to the heart, but I don't know how Numidium was built.

Alright better matchup imo. The 100 people would be irrelevant in most of those matchups so here is a modified version.

100 Ansei all born under the Atronach stone...lmao jk.

100 Hist battle enhanced Naga or Sarpa Argonian Shadowscales.(best I can think of for the Argos)

100 Cathay-Raht Martial Art masters on highly trained Senche-Raht battle cats high on skooma and trailing clouds of moonsugar led by a small team of Dagi-Raht. They might win imo.

100 Hands of Almalexia + Ancestral Summons...hehe IMO they would win this bout. Remember they are infused with the essence of Lorkhan to some degree through Almalexia. They are also supposed to be highly trained in both magic and force of arms.

100 Dwemer + However many constructs they can make in two weeks with unlimited resources.

100 Imperial Knights/Battle Mages + 10 of everyone else except Dremora. Hands of Almalexia, Tongues, Psijiics etc etc...Imperials are pretty persuasive. 100 Imperial knights sound woefully underpowered by themselves.

100 Tongues-might be the strongest in terms of raw potential damage. I think one mass silence spell might ruin their day though.

100 Psijiics- probably would have some secret magics to unleash on their opponents. But in terms of JUST their own powers, idk how effective they could be. I dunno if any of us do.

100 Dremora Valkynaz plus their ability to summon in hordes of Daedra. Especially Xivilai.

OR

All the Sword Saints and Cyrus as the Hoon Ding.

The Tribunal(fully powered), Nerevar, and Alandro Sul.

Numidium and Dumax Dwarf King+ Kagrenac.

Tiber Septim, Zurin Arctus, Reman Cyrodill, Pelinal Whitestrake and Morihaus.

Ysgramor, Wulfharth, Shalidor and the three heroes who defeated Alduin.

Divayth Fyr, Galerion, Mannimarco, Syrabane and Phynaster.

Daedric Prince.

Or

All the above minus Daedric Prince and Dremora.
VS
All the Daedric Princes working in collusion with all the Hordes of oblivion.

In those three categories who would win? Any one got ideas for 100 of something for Imperials?
