Battlefield 3: PC vs. Console Footage

Using released footage, here is a detailed comparison I made. I listed the extra effects and what not I can see in the PC version vs. the PS3 version.

Obviously we haven't yet seen what tesselation and compute shader will do in this game, but this is what we have so far.

The difference between PC and console here is quite big.

Your thoughts?

I will make more comparisons once more console footage is released.

My thoughts? Crysis 2 on consoles still looks better than BF3 on consoles. :D

In my opinion from seeing all the trailers and videos, i can say that Crysis 2 on console (at least PS3, which i've seen in real life) look better than BF3 on consoles

but on PC it seems that BF3 looks better than Crysis 2 PC

this doesn't mean crysis 2 looks bad, in fact, it's possibly the best looking game right now and it will look even better with Maldo's high res textures mod

if crytek wants to surpass BF3 in graphics, they will need to put a lot of effort into that DX11 patch

Damn it...forgot to add...on PC you can see the flash from the guns on the walls...while it's missing on PS3.

well Crytek MIGHT surpass BF3 in graphics or they might be quite the same. We yet have to see but those are some nice graphics in BF3 :)

I'll be getting it but this is not the appropriate forum to discuss the game. It has nothing to do with Crysis 2.

Nice comparison iPwn. One thing I did notice was that in the rocket explosion to the car ending with you being blown back (somehow still in one peice?), in the PC version there seems to be object motion blur on your character, whereas the PS3 version it didn't seem to have any motion blur, though maybe it did but just a lower quality motion blur or it was just harder to distinguish.

My thoughts...I like the look of BF3, it looks like a fun war simulating shooter, but it's nothing compared to Crysis 2 graphics wise. I mean, Cryengine 2, released in 2007 already had all the technology that Frostbite 2 has now, and still beats frostbite 2 in some aspects. But I guess we'll have to wait and see the full presentation that is BF3 before we can properly compare the two engines (CE3 and FB2). But from a standpoint of seing the BF3 PC gameplay so far, CE3 presented with Crysis 2 presents itself a lot higher.

The people expecting BF3 to be of the highest quality of PC game graphics were simply just dreaming. It'll be a fun game nevertheless, linear in it's campaign though, but that's not a problem because as we all know BF3 is all about it's huge mp!

I'll be looking forward to BF3, just not the Origin part of it :( I would've loved for it to join my Steam game library alongside it's previous game. Not that we know for sure what's happening, but we all have a good idea of what will happen.

Good god. A car explodes and all your limbs come off? Do you have even a basic understanding of physics? Can't bear to read the rest of the post; maybe I'll glance later on when my tolerance has refilled...

Does this place just attract complete retards, or moderate retards as well?
