Battlehorn Castle Dead Bodies

Post » Mon Dec 06, 2010 8:48 pm

I killed the marauders at Battlehorn castle but it has been way past respawn time and the bodies are still there, by the castle gate (Lord Kalvyn and two dead marauders. The other marauder bodies went away but these three just stay around. I tried the console command to disable the bodies but it does not work (no error message in the console either about it). Any ideas?

Did you click on the bodies, or just center your crosshair over them before trying to disable them? If you just centered your crosshair, the game doesn't know what you're trying to disable.

If you did click on the bodies (after bringing up the Console Command window,) well... there's only one thing left to do.

Drag the bodies to the bushes. It's a pain, but you won't see them anymore.

LOL, I may just have to do that. I just wonder if it may be something from Duke Patrick's fresh kills now alert the npc. I know it asks if you want to automatically move the bodies after 6 hours. I will disable that mod and see what happens.

The problem was Duke Patric's Fressh kills now alert NPCs. I disable the mod and was able to disable bodies with the console. Weird part was when I disabled one all three went away.

This is also something that should be fixed by the unofficial patch for Battlehorn. Though if you haven't been inside the castle since killing the marauders, you may not have triggered the stage update that gets rid of the bodies.

I have the UOMP patch and have been back since it cleaned up the other bodies just not the three at the gate. Some how Duke's mod froze them. Since the Fresh Kill alert NPCs mod is pretty useless I found, playing without it is no problem.

So THIS is why when I use the console command to disable bodies they don't go away!

I remember saying to this mod to not move them. I have Reneer's Corpse mod but I have yet to see any skeletons or zombies rise up with a max 20% chance.

Normally, the bodies are cleared in stage 40 of the Battlehorn quest. Stage 40 isn't triggered until you purchase at least one upgrade for the castle. You have to purchase at least one upgrade for the castle, then the bodies are removed. I don't know if these other mods affect that, but the bodies aren't removed during the normal cell reset - you have to start improving the castle before they are removed. The behaviour is the same with the UOMP, which I also run.

Heh, reminds me when i first played Battlehorn, I got to the gates from Chorrol, forgetting about this DLC. I saw a fight between marauders, bandits, a hill giant (MMM) and some people from the castle. I saw Lord Kelvyn's body, and thought someone important had died that would break the quest, so I console resurrected him! Kept him aliove for a day until I realized he was supposed to be dead to pass the castle on to me!
