Alright, so I just started a play through, with me shooting for a mix of Battlemage and Bard. I've already taken the Mage stone, to help level up my destruction skill faster (I'm playing as a Breton,) but I'm not sure what else I should level up in the Mage category? Currently my Destruction skill is 22 at level 2 (nearly 3). I know I'm going to have to go for a rise in Enchantment, seeing how it's only 15 currently, and for a Battlemage, Enchanting armor/weapons seems to be a must. What else in the Mage category, should I raise to have a kickass Battlemage? (Conjuration already starts at 25, so until I reach 25 in all the right places, that'll stay there.)

Also, seeing how I'm also going for a Bard, I've already looked to raise Speech, so it's really the Battlemage part I need help setting up. Which of the Warrior traits, should I level up? Currently I'm focusing on 1handed which is 22 as well. What armor type should I go for? Heavy? Light? And should I go for Smithing, just to help make the armors better?

Since your doing conjuration you should go for bound weapons there very battlemagesque as well as extremelly powerful. As for bard type skills id say speech and illusion are useful, frenzy is epic
