Battlestar Galactica The reviese series

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 7:44 am

Well I just finished watching the revised series of Battlestar Galactica. I never watched it before, because I thought it was going to be a lame series. Like come on, how can Starbuck be a girl? Boomer as well. Also, I am thinking like come on, can't they make a something original. How come with all the remakes? So I missed the series. Now after watching it, I can't believe I missed one of the best series of all time. They did an excellent job in the series.

Sadly I can't share this with my son, because of the very mature themes they have on the show, and a bit of six in it, so that is not appropriate for him. But when he is old enough I will be happy to watch it with him, just like how we watch Star Wars and Lord of the Rings together.

So I am curious as to those who watched the series, what do you think of it? If you haven't watched it, I strongly suggest you do. So much better that Star Trek in story telling. Yes there is a few episodes that are slow and it builds character development, but I find most of the episodes are really done well. There are a few OMG moments in the show. There are a few OH COME ON moments as well, but I love the suspense and some of the shockers that is in Battlestar Galactica. All I ask if anyone wants to talk about the show, please put up warnings for Spoilers, because if you know ahead of time and haven't seen it before, the experiance will be ruined for you. I strongly suggest not to read any further and watch it.

I do have a few questions if anyone can answer. Please put in spoiler tags if you are going to say anything that could be spoilerish if you wish. Other wise people please be warned Spoilers ahead.

You have been warned if you haven't watched BSG, please DO NOT read any further.

Spoilers

1) How did Balter survive the attack? If Caprica Six was killed, how could Baltar survive by cowering behind her? It makes no sense to me at all.

2) What the hell happened to Starbuck? You know in season 4. Hard to explain without spoilers.
Spoiler
She did die, so what is she know? Espically how she disappers at the end from William Adama, she likes disapears in thin air. So is she a ghost? Angel? What?

3) Who and what happened to Daniel?
Spoiler
I could be wrong here, but I am sure he was Number 7. So how come we never seen him? When did he get boxed? This part confused me, so if anyone could explain, I would appreciate it.

4) What does the 75 mean? They have on the logo SBG 75? So what does this mean?

I am hoping htere are other BSG fans out there and lets discuss.

I loved the show. I think they did a really great job of exploring the issues that we have in our world today. Yeah, they may be flying around in space, but they still have a lot of the same problems that we face right now. I also think one of the great things about the show was that you never knew what was coming when you sat down to watch an episode. Just about anything could happen in any given episode.

That is true. You never knew where it would take you. I am sort of lucky I can watch all the episodes when ever I want. I think I would have gone crazy if I watched them 8 years ago. How they end it sometimes got me so suspensefull.

I attended a live screening of THE PLAN with the writers, composer and some of the cast.

Someone asked that question and the writers said she was
Spoiler
something like an angel

the answer didn't wasn't satisfying because it should have been addressed in the finale in some way

So would that be the same for Imaginary Guis and Imaginary Caprica 6 as well?

I was watching the last few episodes, and they were refering to that, but it just seemed superficial if that was their intent.

BTW, how was it for the live screening? That must have been nice to be a part off.

I never watched it when it was on TV, but when they put all of the revised series on Netflix watch instantly, I immediately pounced on 'em.

Great show. Never saw the original, but this one was great.

:D

LOL it was so amazing one guy had to be carried out of the theater by Edward James Olmos to the paramedics.

It was delayed a really long time and didn't start until around 2am. I don't know why that guy fainted, though, maybe he had some kind of medical condition.

3.
Spoiler
Ellen really liked the Daniels, but the Cavil's felt like they should have been the center of attention. When they mind-wiped the final 5 and sent them to the colonies, the ones killed the Daniels and deleted all of the backup copies. (The whole story was to show how crazy cavil was.)

Thanks guys for the answers.

Spoiler
Would have been nice to see Daniel. This way we see all 12.

Spoiler
I always thought either Admiral Adama or President Rosolyn was the final Cylon. It was so anti-climixtic when it was announced who was the final one.

"BSG 75" is Battlestar Group 75; they wear it on the shoulders like a unit patch.

I really enjoyed Battlestar Galactica but Season 4 was pretty lame after an awesome first episode. Too clean of an ending for my tastes.

This is the best show I've ever watched. Dark, depressing, and it tackled actual issues that matter.

I bought the seasons as soon as possible, and every few months I just marathon the show. I have way too many favourite moments.

Bear McCreary's score elevated the genre to an entirely new level.

I can't believe he's relegated to doing the music for "The Cape" now - sad.
