Beard evidence.

Firstly, this is the land of Skyrim and it has beards. Theres been very little news about them, and the most weve seen is stubble at most. But, i noticed that in this concept art screen ( http://theelderscrollsskyrim.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/skyrim_conceptart_1.jpg ), besides the fur on the back of the armor, you can clearly see a MASSIVE beard on this guy from the amount that you can see from behind him alone. Some of you may dismiss this because its concept art, but i think this concept piece clearly shows things that the bethesda team is passionate about. Mammoths, dual wielding, the implementation of birds, bears, and other creatures. Infact, i think just about everything in this screen has been confirmed. What do you think?

As much as I like being able to make a bearded guy, I think this whole topic is as absurd as this: http://www.biggerbetterbeards.org/

I suppose it could be a beard. It definitely looks like it. But it also might be part of the fur of his armor/clothing...

By the way, that concept art also confirms that small rocks slightly covered in snow are also being implemented!!

Not saying they havent been, but I felt this screen gave the beards a little bit higher ground than what may have been suspected. Beards in previous games like DA:O have been very plain, solid, and plastic. That behemoth beard on this guy suggests a much larger undertaking.

those are all good reasons to have beards in the game

why do people think beards are like cloth, they move nothing like regular hair or cloth, its thicker hair it doesn't move alot
Basically thicker hair=stiffer hair

Concept art really doesn't confirm anything. Having said that, I'm pretty certain beards will be in.

Then again, we were given certain pieces of CA to look at over others. and it just so happens that everything in this screen is something we can expect to see. Im certain beards are in as well. The quality of them is whats questionable, and i feel that the beard in this picture may give a good taste of the team's inner visions of what a Skyrim beard should stand up to be.

To say concept art doesn't prove anything, look at these links:

Pretty much a 1:1 translation of the shrine.

The enphasis in the phrase concept art, is the word CONCEPT. They are not gonna make drawings that look like the game. That would svck.

And Luke Skyrimer, thats a terrible example. Its not the same thing that a statue from concepto art is the same as in the game, as deriving gameplay mechanics solely on concept art.

I didn't know beards were a gameplay mechanic.

Thats his long hair, there is no way you would be able to see a beard from behind with him wearing that helmet as well.

But.........Beards have been confirmed for a while now, with even the Character in teh latest video having one.
