Found a fantastic post from Alois Hammer in a previous thread on this subject :
"Well see, here's the thing. On the one hand, I agree it would be rather cool. But on the other, what I like about the in-game lore books are that they're written as if the gameworld were real- meaning some are accurate information, some are iffy, and some are outright ignorance and/or propaganda with ulterior motives. So, I wouldn't mind "some" information being available in this form, but I wouldn't want anything approaching "all" useful information regarding creatures and such. Leave the "everything you need to know to beat every critter" for the Wiki, and make clear that even those in the gameworld don't necessarily know everything about it."
Btw, Alois, where are you? I miss your inveterate pessimism.
