<_<

Khajiits and Argonians are beasts. Some Khajiits walk on all fours, can't talk, and are barely distinguishable from a leopard. Interpreting it as insulting is just silly and just looking for a reason to be offended. They are not humans and they are not elves. They are beastfolk. It is not an insult or a demeaning term.

Yeah...yeah... Blah...Blah...

It's a mans-word, and I'm still offended. Call the orc-uglies and those slimy lizards what you want, but we khajiits are supreme beings and should not be labeled as 'beasts'.

Hell, we smell much better than you dirty humans!!!

*Meouw*

Khajiit has no more words for you...

Hopefully like MW.

I'm hoping for a mix between MW and OB.

In MW the way they walked was way too goofy looking, but OB just had them like humans with beast costumes on.

Todd answered a twitter question about when we're gonna see new beast races with something along the lines of "look forward to seeing some new stuff in the next 30 days"

Don't listen to this nonsense. First of all, Todd doesn't have a twitter account. Second of all, it was Pete that tweeted about upcoming info. Third of all, it wasn't in response to beast races. Someone simply asked when we will get more info on Skyrim, and Pete said in a "couple weeks." Info in a "couple weeks" does not directly mean beast races. In fact, when asked about beast races, Pete said he didn't know when we will see them and when we do, he doesn't think we will learn about the racial bonuses at the same time. Looks like beast races is going to be a big reveal for them over a period of time. Not all at once.

So please, stop spreading false information. We have enough of that as it is. You are also the Same person who started a thread today saying you already had Skyrim. Productive day for you on the forums, huh?

Oh god forbid I used the wrong name just sue me. And so what if I made a joke topic earlier, it's better than reading the same 8 questions all day just reposted by different people who can't look at the second page. It's called have a little fun. And I never said all at once anywhere in my post. You likely won't know about any of the racial bonuses until around September.

Oh my God dude, you have some serious anger issues it seems lol.

I too can't wait to see them this time. The appearance of the beast races changes so much from game to game.

We've seen enough apes already, no more apes. :)

There was a concept art with an Argonian somewhere, I guess. It could be pretty old though...

True, so we can't say we haven't seen pictures at all, but the image doesn't allow us to see too many details, and it's only concept art, meaning that there's no guarentee they'll look the same once they make it into the game. That's not to say concept art has absolutely no bearing on the way the actual game looks, obviously it does, since concept art is what the modelers base the in-game artwork on, but things can sometimes change when they make the transition from concept art to in-game models. Whether Argonians will be the same or not I don't know.

I'm hoping that we'll see them soon myself, because this is something I really care about, Khajiit and Argonians are my two favorite races in the series, and next to orcs, they're the ones I'm most likely to play in Skyrim, so naturally, I want them to look good. Now, Morrowind's version may not have been ideal, in a large part because, let's face it, the animations were bad, but I liked how they were easily recognizable as different from the other races, not just their faces and the presence of tails, but even in the way they moved, even if this meant they couldn't wear boots and full helms, and Oblivion's change in this regard was, I felt, a step in the wrong direction. Todd seems to have indicated that they're paying more attention to making each of the races look unique, though, so if Bethesda can deliver on that province, then it will be a good thing. Some might also take the fact that they've so far refrained from showing any clear pictures showing Khajiit and Argonians, or really, any non-human races from the front as a sign that they're saving something really impressive for us. However, if it turns out instead that the results are underwhelming when we do see them, than the dissappointment will only be compounded by the fact that Bethesda made us wait so long to see them.

True. They may still be pondering with the final looks, afraid to show anything. They've to try to please as many as possible. With the beast races there are fans for both the Morrowind and Oblivion looks, so hopefully the final mix is going to look great.

Another prey approaches...new scenth. Stay away, your face might get scratched by the cat. And you really don't want to smell my scaly presence - I've bathed in swamp all day. :D

well seeing how those "slimy lizards" are reptiles, and the "orc-uglies" are have no fur, and resemble no animal i've ever seen, I'd say khajiits are really the only ones in the "beast" catagory

So Khajiits are a beast race, Argonians a predator race, and the rest are pest/prey races?!? :D

I'd also like to point out that Orcs are not part of the beast races.

Yeah, Orcs are properly "Orsimer", a cursed race of Mer that followed the hero-god Trinimac. When Boethiah ate Trinimac and digested him, the Orsimer were transformed along with their leader. (Explains why they smell so bad.)

Anyways.

We have http://img854.imageshack.us/i/art10.png/ concept art of an Argonian, on the far left.
You can't see much, except that he's got a very stocky, beast-like tail, and is wearing boots.
So we at least know how they walk.

I love that piece of concept art. One of my favorite things from back in January when we were dissecting the GI video.

This one does not understand the animosity in this thread. It makes this one be a sad kitty. :'(

However, this one is also anxious to see his new design, so he can understand how some people are on edge.

I think they'll look quite incongruous with the Skyrim world and the sort of barbarian theme that's evedent in the photos we've seen so far. I think lizardmen and cat people will just look out of place. Perhaps commically so.

Personally, this one thinks a Bosmer or Altmer would look rather out of place in the frozen north. Remember, we cats have fur. Mer do not. Argonians, however... Well, they can always ask a dragon to warm them up. :3

This is The Elder Scrolls.
Lizard men and cat people with never be out of place.
How could they? Even in Skyrim, one of the most mannish and mundane provinces, the entire firmament of the world is such a completely strange and alien and WEIRD place... the suggestion that something as common and well-established as the beast-folk would be "out of place" is RIDICULOUS.

A world in which the sun is a hole in the fabric of reality and the dead body of the creator god floats in twain above your head will never have anything too strange to feel out of place. (My mantra is "the stranger the better.")
