Actually, it looks like you just disproved your argument.

Nice going, there's no sabotage like self-sabotage.

Since we do have different body part sizes anyway and most clothing needs to be fit to that, there shouldn't be any problem altering the boots for a little more beast-like beast races.

I DID play Morrowind, I completed the Thieves Guild quest chain on an Imperial and a Khajiit, and the ability to wear two extra pieces of armor made it where I didn't have to turn the difficulty down.
So I assume that were two absolutely identical character builds on the same level? Otherwise the purity of an experiment is questionable.
No offence, but even if you roleplay a thief you must know that khajiit is worser suited for combat - so you should make him more powerful before taking Hard-Heart down. It's just rational.

Wha?

Look at it. It's a little hard to see yes, but you can see that at the left (to us) knee the leg starts moving backwards. And the right (to us) leg gets really abnormally thin at this angle near where it reaches the tail.

Or maybe boots just shape after Beast race legs, like they do for every single other race and gender.

like wow perhaps ?? well I can live with that as long as they look nice :P

haha dude that leg is bent the wrong way for it to be human/human-like, and I'm an artist and I know

and yes the pic makes it harder to tell but that "knee" (I know its not the knee part anatomically) is bent backwards

and sorry Crom for stealing teh thunder :P

Sorry pal, but I'm an artist too and looking at it for five minutes, I don't see any solid evidence of an aft-jointed leg.

Hell, even the original poster of that pic says it's iffy.

Edit: I drew a rough outline of that pic and I'm STILL not seeing it.

as someone who plays argonians almost exclusivly i want the legs to be more...not human. the beast races and the humans are not the same races they will be anatomicly diffrent. and the picture dosnt help prove or disprove anyone, human legs can and often do bend that way but maybe thats as straight as he can stand

You DO realize that greaves were combined with another armor slot, so it's either with boots or chest pieces.

This is still very much up for debate. It definitely isn't with boots, because in the demo when the player is killing the wolves, you can see skin above where his boots end. And because if they are attached to boots, then you could never, ever have leg protection if you were wearing regular shoes. Or every NPC in the game would have greaves on at all times. So, logic and visuals dictate it isn't attached to boots.

If they are attached to chest pieces, beast races are STILL only one slot down, because that slot would be gone across the board. But they aren't attached to chest pieces because 1) the picture shows no greaves, and the nirnroot picture shows a foot-long tangle of roots, so clearly they are intent on showing every detail of every item; and 2) there are pictures of elven armor with more armor than what is shown on the armor in the menu, as well as the picture of the female character looking at Whiterun who is wearing greaves.

I personally would like the return of pawed feet for my Khajiit. Unless where suppose to be Ohmes-raht.

I much prefered the legs of the beast races in Morrowind, and I would like them to return, however having less armour slots wouldn't be worth it. Having those legs doesn't mean that boots can't be used though, look at how WoW handles that! All the races that have awkward legs just get like a band round their shins or something.

I don't understand why everyone just skips over the compromise I came up with where you make it look more animal like while keeping the legs and feet a bit humanesque so they fit in the constraints of a boot.

Animals have no need for shoes.....
