Beast Races!

Are shoes confirmed? The screen shots of the khajiit didn't show its feet. I would love to have shoeless beast races.

I don't, that puts two of the races at a disadvantage again like in Morrowind. Can everyone stop pitching this dumb idea?

I don't really care too much as I never play as the beast races, but looking at the new Khajiit, I'd guess they're more similar to the Oblivion style than Morrowind.

No such thing as being put at a disadvantage in a one-player game. It just adds to the difficulty.

sure hope so OP

and no beast races won't have a disadvantage because they already have more basic advantages than the rest like;

seeing in the dark, sneaking better, breathing underwater....etc

I hope they are like the ones in Morrowind maby they can have a higher agility increasing armour value to make up for 1 or 2 lost slots. Oh and guess what? You can use a sheild.

Well then, if you want that added challenge, then you can decide to not wear boots, but don't pitch an idea that would ruin it for the people that both like to play a Khajiit or Argonian and wear a full suit of armor.

Just give them all significantly different gait and stance while retaining the abilities to wear boots. I don't want the awkward toad legs from Morrowind return, no thank you.

No, if armour is already able to shape after every gender and "normal" race then it should be no different for the Beast races.

My first character is usually a Combat oriented Khajiit.

Oh and guess what? A two handed weapon doesn't block and agility was cut from the game like strength, intellect, willpower and the rest.

briast RACES HAVE ADDED ADVANTAGES THAT WILL MORE THAN MAKE UP FOR THE LOSS OF A SHOE

there that's better

use your brain for that cause I'm tired of explaining how I just hope to GOD Bethesda made beast races more beast-y this time around, because in OB they looked like humans with bad masks on

You are able to block with two handed weapons. You can block as long as the left trigger is free.

They will still have pseudo-human feet, which is lame. Give me dinosaur legs and tiger claws! :intergalactic:

You DO realize that greaves were combined with another armor slot, so it's either with boots or chest pieces, if the former, that's TWO slots taken away from Khajiit and Argonians, if the latter, they're simplifying it that far and I wouldn't put money on them adding a render of all the boots in game for aft-jointed legs. And keep in mind that this isn't just an armor slot, it's an enchantment slot. You're asking for something that would gimp Khajiit and Argonians a LOT more than you think.

This game isn't being built to your liking, it's being built to make as many gamers as happy as possible. The whole "just up their natural abilities" idea is asinine because then after you buff the hell out of the beast races to make them look cool and keep the difficulty level of playing them the same as other races, people playing the other races will whine about how "These guys start with moar or they have a seriously OP power! Bethesda are playing favs!" If they just loosely re-mesh the feet so they look a bit more animalistic while keeping them in the constraints of a boot, then it keeps the game balanced.

I'd like them more beasty in looks, voices, behaviour, tail animation, etc. Not sure about the boots though, boots+helm is a lotta armor that should be compensated somehow. Anyway, when I play in 3rd person I play without helmet regardless the race, I like to see the head and hair of my char.

well seeing in the dark and moving more silently and a little faster (I should hope) and jumping a little better/higher is kind of a universal advantage .... and maybe Bethesda even added more advantages to Kahjit and Argonians this time around like:

1-scaly skin: gives a bonus armor value to argonians
2- Feral lunge: as a Kahjit you have a special forward lunge that can give you a fighting advantage or provide a quick dodge/escape in certain situations (avoiding a last minute trap or dodging a fire ball or a dragon fire run...etc)

see its easy, and I'm 70% sure argonians and Kahjit have beast legs this time

But at the beginning they have great abilities which help you in the early game. It is a trade off of easy early game versus gimped late game. Immunity to poison, disease resistance, water breathing, higher jumping, night eye, and being a beast! all help in the early game when you have less skills and a small amount of magica.

Great abilities? They're not so great. Thanks to attributes, any race could be just as powerful as any race, except for special perks such as 50% resistance to magick, berserk, and a few others that permanently outperform other races. Skill bonuses svck. Now a faster skill progression would be awesome. Bosmers increasing their marksman faster, orcs increase their heavy armor faster, etc. That would be worthwhile imo.. You know, I might make a thread on this.

Well then, if you want that added challenge, then you can decide to not wear boots, but don't pitch an idea that would ruin it for the people that both like to play a Khajiit or Argonian and wear a full suit of armor.

This. I intentionally didn't wear shoes as an argonian in Oblivion because I liked how it looked. Don't limit the players. If you don't like something, limit yourself.

I would love beast exclusive armour.
Imagine a store run by a Khajit and an Argonian, stocking lots of things just for those races. Oddly shaped fur boots, a closed helmet that fits an Argonian head.
Things to decorate your tail with.

I love customisation and things that are only available if you choose a particular race would just be sheer joy.

Are you even reading what you post? You just suggested "Oh, Bethesda should make it real easy for you at the beginning so it makes up for you getting your ass kicked by bandits like Oblivion, at least the game will look the way I want it to."
