Beasts of burden

Oooooooooo pack slaves for carrying your stuff, 2 slaves carrying a big square strongbox between them and they also defend themselves a bit by kicking and running away like a horse would lol I would near s*#t myself laughing at something like that.

I cant believe more people are not interested in this aspect of the game, every1 wants to carry more stuff and/or have an interesting way of doing it or should I say more immersive way.

I definitely wouldnt complain if we had beasts of burden.

Especially if there was an option to have them follow you like pack brahmin in Fallout, rather then ride them like shadowmere.

I never used horses on oblivion really, mainly because there was no skill associated to riding, whereas if i walked i'd get my athletics skill up. also, they are fairly useless, especially if someone attacked you whilst on horseback. the only one i used was shadowmere, simply for the carrying capabilities.

I think the Oblivion devs are on record admitting to the fact they were unhappy with the final implementation of horses in-game. And it wouldn't surprise me if they dumped them completely for the sequel. Either that, or hire much better animators.

I think the whole concept of a pack-animal would slightly undermine the notion of a lone hero having to equip himself to defeat the enemies and the environment he's pitted against. Having a back-up plan in the form of a faithful mule that carrys your spare plate mail armour just wouldn't sit right with me.

Mind you, the pack-Guars you could get in Morrowind were cute

Alot of people didnt like the horses in oblivion and I never got that if anything I thought they were great if most a bit slow, didnt even mind the horses having an anus lol but was concerned for the poor beasties as I never stepped in one horse apple anywhere.

Can't say I'll use the idea myself - still can't find where I parked my horse in Oblivion, and I even manage to mislay whole houses. -_- Aesthetically, though, I can see in the colder region a sled with dogs working just fine.

And yeah, carrying all that stuff yourself just don't make any sense. Packing ought to be a bit more realistic. It'll make it tough to loot, but well, that's what feather spell is for.

Unless it was a stolen horse or it was killed it should have followed you the next time you fast traveled or just followed you and caught up the next time you slept, I for 1 liked the horses, if you didnt they were an option dont use it like any option, but they were also another thing adding more realism to the game, and as for the other I want slots and a limit to the types of items I can use once I enter combat if its in the depths of my baggage I dont think it should be accessible to me ... just the way I role play.

Ehhh, problem is, I tried to replay after a huge hiatus. :P So wherever it followed me I don't know. :lmao: And yeah, I don't have a problem with horses, I like to see them : it's just that they're meant for people who haven't goldfish brains. And agreed on the second part of your post.
